Supported Applications
The Omega LC702 and LC712 series are high-capacity tension link load cells calibrated in tension. These stainless steel sensors are designed for heavy-duty applications including cranes, architectural support rods, engine test beds, and industrial weighing systems.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series covers a measurement range from 0-5000 lb to 0-1,000,000 lb (0-2269 kgf to 0-453,721 kgf). Standard performance specifications include an accuracy of ±0.15%, hysteresis of ±0.10% FSO, and repeatability of ±0.05% FSO. The load resistance is rated at 350 Ω with a standard output signal of 2 mV/V ±0.25% FSO.
Operating ambient temperature ranges from -34 to 121°C (-30 to 250°F). Excitation voltage requirements are specified as 10 Vdc (15V max). The series carries an IP67 enclosure rating and is constructed of stainless steel. Approvals include NIST Standard and RoHS compliance.
Configuration Options
The LC702/LC712 family offers configurable electrical connections, process thread sizes based on capacity, and optional amplified outputs or extended cabling.
- Electrical Connection: The LC702 series features a 1.8 m (6') 4-conductor cable; the LC712 series utilizes a DT02H-10-6P connector (or equivalent). Mating connectors PTIH-10-6P or equal are required, with mating connector PT06F10-6S-R sold separately.
- Process Connections: E Thread sizes vary by capacity range: 1-14 NS for 5K to 10K; 1½-12 UN for 20K to 50K; 2¼-12 UN for 75K to 100K; 3-8 UN for 150K to 200K; 4-8 UN for 250K to 300K; 5-8 UN for 400K to 600K; and 6-8 UN for 750K to 1,000K.
- Output Options: An amplified 0 to 5V output is available by adding the suffix ".5V" to the model number. Additional cable length can be ordered by appending the length in feet (e.g., LC702-5K-25FT).
- Housing Dimensions: Overall dimensions scale with capacity, ranging from 140 mm (5.50 in) to 444 mm (17.50 in) for dimension A.

The series is divided into two primary model families distinguished by their electrical interface:
- LC702 Series: Models include a standard 1.8 m (6') 4-conductor cable.
- LC712 Series: Models feature an integral twist-lock connector style DT02H-10-6P or equivalent, requiring the separate mating connector PT06F10-6S-R for operation.
Calibration orientation varies by capacity: units are calibrated in tension. For capacities ≥150,000 lb, calibration is performed in compression. Units with calibrations ≥300,000 lb require the suffix ".FS" and consultation with Sales for pricing and delivery.
