The Omega NWHMTO Series is a circulation heater designed for low-cost heating of light and medium weight oils. The series identity specifies use in remote applications requiring the heating of lubricating and cutting oils.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The NWHMTO heaters feature an integral thermostat with a range of 200 to 550°F. Construction includes a 2½" carbon steel pipe body rated for 150 lb pressure, utilizing ASTM A53B carbon steel pipe and ASTM A516 Grade 70 carbon steel plate (end disk) as wetted materials. The heating elements consist of three 0.475" diameter steel sheath units with a loading of 23 W/in².
Configuration Options
The series supports power ratings from 3 to 9 kW across multiple voltage and phase configurations, including 120V, 240V, and 480V at both single-phase (1-1) and three-phase (1-3). The process connection is a 2½ NPT steel screw plug design. Terminal enclosures are available in General Purpose (E1), Moisture Resistant/Explosion Resistant (E2), or Moisture Resistant (E4) ratings, with convenient field wiring terminals provided for installation.

The NWHMTO series model number follows the format: NWHMTO - <Number of Elements> - <kW Code> - <Terminal Enclosure Code>. The element count is fixed at three (Code 03). kW codes map directly to power output: 003P for 3 kW, 04P5 for 4.5 kW, 006P for 6 kW, 07P5 for 7.5 kW, and 009P for 9 kW.
Terminal enclosure codes define the environmental rating: E1 denotes General Purpose; E2 indicates Moisture Resistant/Explosion Resistant (note that dimension A increases by 2" for E2 enclosures); and E4 specifies Moisture Resistant. Voltage suffixes appended to the model number indicate specific electrical configurations, such as /240 or /480/3P.
