The CIR-38 series features an Incoloy sheath with a black oxide finish for efficient heat transfer and includes a welded, sealed tip. The maximum operating temperature is 816°C (1500°F). Construction is described as vibration and shock resistant.

- Electrical Connections: The series uses Type "F" connections with stranded, flexible manganese nickel wire insulated with fiberglass. Leads have a maximum temperature rating of 450°C (842°F) and a standard length of 14", though longer leads are available.
