Supported Applications

The Omega LVCN Series comprises general-purpose level controllers designed for pump and valve control. The series includes three configurations: the LVCN-140, which accepts one level sensor input; the LVCN-130, which accepts one or two level sensors; and the LVCN-120, which supports up to three inputs. These controllers perform automatic fill or empty operations and alarm functions (high/low). The series is intended for use with compatible level switch sensors and fittings.

Important safety constraints apply: the entire LVCN-120/-130/-140 series should not be used with explosive or flammable liquids, as these require an intrinsically safe or explosion-proof rating. Additionally, the controller housing is not designed for immersion and must be mounted to avoid contact with liquid.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The LVCN series operates on a selectable power supply of 120 / 240 VAC at 50 - 60 Hz, with maximum consumption rated at 5 Watts. The electronics are designed for an ambient temperature range of F: -40° to 158°, C: -40° to 70°. Sensor inputs receive a supply voltage of nominal 13.5 VDC @ 27 mA.

Relay outputs in the series feature a contact rating of 250 VAC, 10A (½ HP). The LVCN-130 specifically utilizes an isolated single pole double throw (SPDT) relay with Form C contacts. A time delay function is adjustable from 0 to 60 seconds (specifically noted as 0.15 to 60 sec in the series data sheet) to dampen relay chatter.

The enclosure material is PP, flame retardant (U.L. 94 VO), and meets EN 50 022 standard for 35 mm DIN rail or panel mounting. Approvals include CE compliance with EN 61326 EMC and EN 61010-1 Safety standards.

Configuration Options

The LVCN series offers configurable sensor inputs, relay types, and output states to address specific control logic requirements:

• Sensor Inputs: The LVCN-140 accepts (1) level switch; the LVCN-130 accepts (1 or 2) level switches; the LVCN-120 accepts (1, 2 or 3) level switches.
• Relay Outputs: The LVCN-140 provides one SPDT relay. The LVCN-130 features a single SPDT latching relay. The LVCN-120 includes both an SPDT relay and an SPDT latching relay.
• Contact Configuration: Relay states are selectable as Normally Open (NO) or Normally Closed (NC). For the LVCN-120 and LVCN-130 series, contact latch conditions can be selected On/Off.
• Status Indication: LED indicators provide status for sensor input, relay state, and power supply.

The LVCN-120 configuration enables a three-input system capable of automatic operations (fill or empty) combined with an alarm operation. It can also function as a two-input controller performing dual alarms (e.g., 2-high/2-low).

Key Product Differences

The series is differentiated by the number of sensor inputs and relay output types:

• LVCN-140 Series: Features one sensor input and one SPDT relay output.
• LVCN-130 Series: Features two sensor inputs (configurable for 1 or 2) and a single latching SPDT relay output. This model is designed specifically for automatic filling and emptying operations using the latched relay interface with pumps and valves.
• LVCN-120 Series: Features up to three sensor inputs and two relay outputs (one standard SPDT, one latching SPDT). This configuration supports complex logic including dual alarms or combined fill/empty/alarm functions.

All models share identical physical dimensions of 3.9" W x 2.7" H x 3.6" D (98mm x 68mm x 92mm) and the same enclosure mounting options for EN 50 022 standard 35 mm DIN rail or panel installation.
