Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series DPT Digital Pressure Transmitter with Switches is designed for monitoring compatible gases, liquids, or vapors. The unit combines a large, 14-segment LED display with two programmable solid-state switches in a compact housing. Its unique 3-way rotating design allows the display and electrical connection to be rotated independently to maximize visibility while orienting the cable connector for specific installation requirements.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series DPT utilizes thin-film piezoresistive sensor technology with an accuracy of 1.0% F.S., which includes non-linearity, hysteresis, and zero point. The transmitter operates within ambient and process temperature limits of 32 to 176°F (0 to 80°C). It features a thermal effect rating of 0.2% FS/10 k.

Pressure ranges span from -14.5 to 0 psig up to 0 to 1000 psig, with specific maximum and burst pressures defined by the model range. The unit carries an IP67 enclosure rating and is approved under CE standards. Power requirements are specified as 15 to 35 VDC.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable output signals, process connections, wetted materials, and display options tailored to specific measurement needs:

  • Output Signals: Models are available as DPT-A for 4 to 20 mA or DPT-V for 0 to 10 VDC.
  • Process Connection: Standard connection is a 1/4" male NPT.
  • Wetted Materials: The pressure connection and sensor are constructed from 316 L SS. For ranges above 150 psi, the pressure sensor material is specified as 13-8 PH stainless steel.
  • Housing Construction: Features a 316 L lower body with a heat and chemical resistant fiberglass reinforced plastic (PBT) head, TPE-E keyboard, and PC display window.
  • Electrical Connection: Circular connector M12x1, 5-pin.
  • Switch Configuration: Two programmable solid-state switches support Hysteresis Function (normally open/closed) or Window Function (normally open/closed). Switch delay times are configurable from 0 to 50 seconds for both switch and reset points.

The display is a red LED with 4-digit, 0.35" H digits that can be rotated 180° via the DISR parameter. Display units include BAR, MPA, KPA, PSI, or KG/cm² depending on order configuration and range limits.

Key Product Differences

The Series DPT is differentiated by output type (DPT-A vs. DPT-V) and pressure range codes:

  • DPT-A Models: Provide a 4 to 20 mA analog signal with a load resistance of ≤ 0.5k.
  • DPT-V Models: Provide a 0 to 10 VDC output signal requiring a load resistance > 10k.

Range codes correspond to specific pressure spans, such as code "00" for -14.5 to 0 psig and code "10" for 0 to 1000 psig. Optional accessories include a NIST traceable calibration certificate (NISTCAL-PT1) and a 6' (2 m) shielded cable with female M-12 connections (A-195).
