Supported Applications
The Omega CRS Series Curved Face Ceramic Radiant Heaters (Ceramic E-Mitters) are designed for new or existing applications requiring infrared radiation. The series is engineered for universal mounting into existing systems regardless of manufacturer, supporting integration across various radiant heating setups.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The CRS Series delivers a maximum operating temperature of 1800 °F and supports power levels up to 0.25 kW (specifically 162 W or 250 W in standard configurations). The heaters emit infrared radiation with a wavelength range of 2.5 to 6 µm. Performance is documented as unaffected by vibration or adverse atmospheric conditions, including humidity variations.
Standard electrical connections consist of 88.9 mm (3.5") ceramic bead insulated leads terminating in #8-10 spade terminals. The series offers a long operating life exceeding 10,000 hours under normal continuous operation conditions.
Configuration Options
The CRS Series is available with multiple configuration options to meet specific installation requirements:
- Sensor Options: Standard built-in Type K thermocouple; optional Type J thermocouple and low noise configurations.
- Voltage Ratings: Standard stocked voltages include 120 Vac or 220/240V. Other available voltages depend on design, including 208, 277, and 480 Vac.
- Colors: Standard colors are metamorphing rose (cold) to grey (hot) and traditional white. Optional colors include metamorphing yellow (cold) to orange (hot) and black.
- Mounting & Accessories: Options include Two-Piece Wave Mounting Clips, Reflectors, Arrays, Power/Temperature Control Panels, and additional power or thermocouple lead lengths.
The CRS Series dimensions are 2.36" (60 mm) x 2.36" (60 mm). Custom engineered/manufactured heaters are available upon request for specialized needs beyond standard variants.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the CRS Series differ by wattage, voltage, and thermocouple inclusion:
- 162 W Models (CRS00003/CRS00009): Available at 120 Vac or 220/240V with a watt density of 28.07 Watts/in² (4.35 Watts/cm²).
- 250 W Models (CRS00006/CRS00010): Available at 120 Vac or 220/240V with a watt density of 43.18 Watts/in² (6.69 Watts/cm²).
- Thermocouple Integration: Models ending in specific suffixes denote the inclusion of a Type K thermocouple, while others represent heater-only configurations.
