Supported Applications

The OMEGA UW Series UWTC-REC1 and UWTC-REC2 are compact USB-connected wireless receivers that collect the signals broadcast by UWTC Series wireless transmitters. Using the included TC Central software, a receiver lets a PC display, log and graph incoming data, monitoring up to 48 temperature, pH, process or humidity signals over a 2.4 GHz ISM-band radio link.

The UWTC-REC1 is a 48-channel, USB-powered receiver intended purely for PC-based monitoring, while the UWTC-REC2 extends the same receiver with analog output so that live values can be passed on to a controller, recorder or building automation system. This makes the family the gateway between a fleet of battery-powered wireless sensors and a wired data-acquisition or control system.

Operating Conditions & Performance

Both receivers use an ISM 2.4 GHz direct-sequence spread-spectrum transceiver and connect to the host through a USB cable. The UWTC-REC1 is powered entirely from the USB host, whereas UWTC-REC2 units also require a DC power supply for their analog output, for which an AC adaptor is included. The receivers operate over an ambient range of -10 to 70°C (14 to 158°F).

On the UWTC-REC2, the analog output is factory specified: "V1" provides 0 to 5 Vdc, "V2" provides 0 to 10 Vdc, and "MA" provides 4 to 20 mA. A Type K thermocouple analog output is also offered. Because of transmission-frequency regulations, the UWTC-REC1 may only be used in the United States, Canada, Europe, South Korea and Brazil, while the UWTC-REC2 is approved for additional regions.

Configuration Options

The two base models set the core capability. The UWTC-REC1 is USB-only, delivering wireless data to the PC through TC Central. The UWTC-REC2 adds a hardware analog output and can be further configured with a digital display and a NEMA-rated enclosure.

  • Analog output: "-V1" for 0 to 5 Vdc, "-V2" for 0 to 10 Vdc, or "-MA" for 4 to 20 mA.
  • Display: the "-D" option adds a local digital display.
  • Enclosure: the "-NEMA" option adds a NEMA-rated enclosure for harsher mounting locations.

These options combine in the part number, so a UWTC-REC2 can be ordered as a plain USB receiver, an analog-output receiver, a displayed receiver, or a fully enclosed unit, while the UWTC-REC1 remains a fixed USB-powered configuration.

Key Product Differences

Part numbers follow the pattern UWTC-REC<model>-<analog output option>-<enclosure option>, for example UWTC-REC2-D-V1-NEMA. The catalog lineup includes:

  • UWTC-REC1: 48-channel USB-powered receiver.
  • UWTC-REC2-MA and UWTC-REC2-V1: analog-output receivers (4 to 20 mA and 0 to 5 Vdc).
  • UWTC-REC2-D-V2 and UWTC-REC2-D-MA: displayed receivers with 0 to 10 Vdc and 4 to 20 mA outputs.
  • UWTC-REC2-D-MA-NEMA, UWTC-REC2-D-V1-NEMA and UWTC-REC2-D-V2-NEMA: displayed, NEMA-enclosed receivers.

All variants share the USB interface and TC Central software; they differ only by the presence of the analog output type, the digital display and the NEMA enclosure. An additional UWTC-CABLE USB programming cable is available as an accessory.
