Supported Applications
The Series SBSV-S Stainless Steel Solenoid Valve is a compact, general-service, two-way guide-type solenoid valve built for air, gas, water, and other liquid applications. Its normally closed (NC) design holds the line sealed until the coil is energized, providing reliable on/off control across a wide range of compatible gases and liquids. The stainless steel construction makes it a strong fit where media compatibility and corrosion resistance are priorities.
The valve mounts in any position, with best performance when the solenoid sits vertically above the valve body. Its solenoid enclosure protects against dust and guards against the seepage of oil and non-corrosive coolants. A NEMA 13 (IP54) enclosure rating suits general-purpose industrial installations that need protection against dust and dripping liquids.
- Compressed air and pneumatic control circuits
- Inert and compatible process gases
- Water and other compatible liquids requiring a corrosion-resistant wetted path
- General-service fluid isolation on process skids and machinery
Operating Conditions & Performance
The SBSV-S accommodates a process media temperature up to 176°F (80°C) and operates across an ambient range of 32 to 149°F (0 to 65°C). Operating pressure depends on connection size: the 1/8" and 1/4" models run from 0 bar up to 13 bar, while the 3/8" through 2" models run from 0.5 bar up to 13 bar. The series carries a pressure limit of 17 bar.
The wetted path pairs a 316 SS body with a 304 SS spring and a Fluoroelastomer seal, over a nylon housing. Process connections are Female NPT, and electrical termination is via a DIN connection. Standard supply is 110 VAC, with 220 VAC, 24 VAC, and 24 VDC options available (consult factory). The series is CE approved.
Flow Performance
Flow capacity is expressed as a Cv value that scales with line size. The smallest 1/8" and 1/4" models offer a Cv of 0.23, rising through 4.5, 7.6 and 12 for the mid-range bodies, and reaching 48 for the full 2" model, letting specifiers match flow to the application without changing the compact valve architecture.
Configuration Options
Every SBSV-S model shares the same stainless steel, normally closed, two-way guide-type construction, differing chiefly by connection size, orifice, flow capacity, and physical size. Line sizes span 1/8" to 2" Female NPT across nine body sizes.
- 1/8" and 1/4" bodies use the smallest orifice with a Cv of 0.23 for low-flow precision.
- 3/8" and 1/2" bodies step up to a Cv of 4.5.
- 3/4" bodies deliver a Cv of 7.6.
- 1" bodies provide a Cv of 12.
- 1-1/4" bodies reach a Cv of 22, and 1-1/2" bodies a Cv of 30.
- 2" bodies offer the largest Cv of 48.
Physical size and weight rise with line size, from the most compact 1/8" body up to the largest 2" body. Each model accepts the standard 110 VAC coil or the optional 220 VAC, 24 VAC, or 24 VDC coils, so electrical selection is independent of hydraulic sizing.
Key Product Differences
The model number follows the pattern SBSV-S<Size>F<Voltage> (for example, SBSV-S1F1), where the first numeral encodes the body/connection size and the trailing character encodes the voltage/coil option. The full SBSV-S lineup comprises the following 36 variants:
- SBSV-S1F1, SBSV-S1F2, SBSV-S1F3, SBSV-S1F4
- SBSV-S2F1, SBSV-S2F2, SBSV-S2F3, SBSV-S2F4
- SBSV-S3F1, SBSV-S3F2, SBSV-S3F3, SBSV-S3F4
- SBSV-S4F1, SBSV-S4F2, SBSV-S4F3, SBSV-S4F4
- SBSV-S5F1, SBSV-S5F2, SBSV-S5F3, SBSV-S5F4
- SBSV-S6F1, SBSV-S6F2, SBSV-S6F3, SBSV-S6F4
- SBSV-S7F1, SBSV-S7F2, SBSV-S7F3, SBSV-S7F4
- SBSV-S8F1, SBSV-S8F2, SBSV-S8F3, SBSV-S8F4
- SBSV-S9F1, SBSV-S9F2, SBSV-S9F3, SBSV-S9F4
The base sizes map to connections as follows: SBSV-S1F1 (1/8"), SBSV-S2F1 (1/4"), SBSV-S3F1 (3/8"), SBSV-S4F1 (1/2"), SBSV-S5F1 (3/4"), SBSV-S6F1 (1"), SBSV-S7F1 (1-1/4"), SBSV-S8F1 (1-1/2"), and SBSV-S9F1 (2"), all shown with the standard 110 VAC coil.
