Supported Applications
The Omega KTO-KTS-Series is a compact thermostat designed for temperature regulation and limit monitoring. The series identity centers on small-size, DIN rail-mounted units with high switching performance. Documented applications include regulating heaters using normally closed (NC) configurations and controlling filter fans or heat exchangers via normally open (NO) contacts. Additionally, the NO variants are used to switch signals when a temperature limit is exceeded.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The KTO-KTS-Series operates within an ambient and process temperature range of -20 to +80°C (-4 to +176°F). Storage conditions support temperatures from -45 to +80°C (-49 to +176°F). The device utilizes a thermostatic bimetal sensor element with snap-action contacts. Switching performance is characterized by a switch temperature difference of 7K (±4K tolerance) and a contact resistance of less than 10mΩ. The service life exceeds 100,000 cycles.
Electrical switching capacity supports:
- 250VAC, 10 (2) A
- 120VAC, 15 (2) A
- DC 30W
The enclosure carries an IP20 protection type and complies with EMC standards acc. to EN 55014-1-2, EN 61000-3-2, and EN 61000-3-3.
Configuration Options
The series is offered in four specific configurations defined by setting range and contact type. The housing material is plastic according to UL94 V-0 (light grey), with overall dimensions of 60 x 33 x 43mm and a weight of approx. 40g.
Setting Ranges
- 0 to +60°C
- +32 to +140°F
Contact Types & Models
Variants are distinguished by contact breaker type:
- Normally Closed (NC): KT011469-A (for 0 to +60°C) and KT011409-A (for +32 to +140°F).
- Normally Open (NO): KT011479-A (for 0 to +60°C) and KT011419-A (for +32 to +140°F).
Mechanical & Electrical Connections
The unit mounts via a 35mm DIN clip for 35mm DIN rail, EN60715 or for exit filter EF 118 Series. The fitting position is variable. Electrical connection uses a 2-pole terminal with a clamping torque of 0.5Nm max: rigid wire 2.5mm², stranded wire (with wire end ferrule) 1.5mm².
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction within the KTO-KTS-Series is the combination of temperature setting range and contact logic. Models KT011469-A and KT011479-A cover the metric 0 to +60°C range, while models KT011409-A and KT011419-A cover the imperial +32 to +140°F range. Within each temperature band, one variant provides a normally closed contact (suitable for heater regulation) and the other provides a normally open contact (suitable for fan control or limit signaling). All variants share identical physical dimensions, housing material, switching capacity ratings, and EMC approvals.
