Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series 1211 Slack Tube® Manometer and Model 1212 Gas Pressure Kit are flexible vinyl-plastic column manometers designed for measuring static pressure, vacuum, or differential pressure. The series is documented as suitable for velocity and static pressure measurements, leakage tests, fan and blower tests, and gas pressure checking in a wide range of applications.

The Model 1212 Gas Pressure Kit specifically includes components necessary for checking gas pressures in virtually all gas appliances.

Operating Conditions & Performance

Dwyer® Slack Tube® Manometers feature spring steel scales calibrated in inches of water (using water) and inches of mercury (using mercury). The instruments are described as accurate as laboratory 'U' gages. They utilize a center-mounted scale to eliminate parallax error and include a 2-inch sliding zero adjustment.

Operating ranges span from 4-0-4 inches up to 60-0-60 inches, with metric options available in centimeters (cm). The series supports pressure ratings of up to 50 psi (absolute) and vacuum not exceeding 20" Hg (10" Hg absolute).

Media compatibility is limited to water or mercury. Do not use with 0.826 sp. gr. red gage fluid; the bundle specifies using only water or mercury.

Model Ranges and Mercury Requirements

• Inch Models: Range from 1211-8 (4-0-4 in.) requiring 6 oz. Hg, up to 1211-120 (60-0-60 in.) requiring 57 oz. Hg.
• Metric Models: Range from 1211-50 (25-0-25 cm) requiring 11 1/2 oz. Hg, up to 1211-200 (100-0-100 cm) requiring 35 oz. Hg.

Mercury is not included but will be furnished at added cost when specified. When used with mercury, some discoloration of the vinyl tubing will normally occur.

Configuration Options

The Series 1211 instruments are designed to roll up compactly for easy carrying and storage. They feature molded all-nylon construction housing and include rapid shutoff type molding nylon rubber tubing connectors that allow 360° freedom of movement.

• (1) #1211-16 Slack Tube® Manometer, reads pressure to 16" water*
• (1) Carrying case, plastic, 8-1/2" x 7" x 3-1/8"
• (1) 1 oz. bottle Fluorescein green color concentrate with wetting agent
• (2) 1/8" pipe thread rubber tubing adapters
• (1) 1/8" to 1/4" pipe thread bushing
• (1) 3' L 3/16" rubber tubing
• (1) Rubber tubing adaptor to fit standard 7/16" dia. spud.

Key Product Differences

The series is offered in multiple model numbers corresponding to specific measurement ranges and physical dimensions (Dimension "A"). The inch-based models range from 1211-8 through 1211-120, while metric models include 1211-50, 1211-100, and 1211-200.

Physical dimensions vary by model; for example, the 1211-8 has a Dimension "A" of 16-3/4 [425.45] in [mm], while the largest inch range model, 1211-120, measures 128-3/4 [3270.25] in [mm]. The Model 1212 is a distinct kit configuration that bundles specific accessories with the #1211-16 manometer.
