Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series SCT Compact Current Transformers continuously measure current consumption for energy monitoring applications. Documented use cases include pumps, fans, boilers, solar panels, and chillers.
Operating Conditions & Performance
These split-core transformers operate within an ambient temperature range of 5 to 140°F (-15 to 60°C) with a humidity rating of 0 to 95% non-condensing. The series provides an accuracy of ±2% from 10 to 100% of the selected range and features a response time of 2 s (or 2 seconds). Electrical isolation is rated at 600 VAC RMS, with operation supported at 50/60 Hz frequencies.
Measurement Ranges
The series supports two primary amperage range configurations selectable via a slider switch:
- SCT10 models: 30/60/120 A with a maximum continuous operating current of 120 A.
- SCT20 models: 20/100/150 A with a maximum continuous operating current of 150 A.
Housing and Approvals
The enclosure is constructed from UL, V-O flammability rated, type 66 nylon. Agency approvals include CE, RoHS, cUL, and UL.
Configuration Options
Variants within the Series SCT differ by output signal type, power requirements, and maximum current capacity. The split-core configuration allows installation on new or existing conductors without disconnecting the circuit. A snap-on mounting bracket is available for quick replacement.
Output Signals
The series offers three standard analog outputs depending on the model:
- SCT10-100: 4 to 20 mA output (requires 24 VDC power).
- SCT10-102: 0 to 5 VDC output (self-powered).
- SCT20-103: 0 to 10 VDC output (self-powered).
Optional Relay Module
An optional relay module can snap onto the current switch, eliminating the need for a separate mounted relay. Available configurations include:
- SCT-RLY-12: 12 VAC Trigger Voltage Relay Module.
- SCT-RLY-24: 24 VAC Trigger Voltage Relay Module.
The optional relay provides a Normally Open (N.O.) SPST contact rated at 10 A @ 260 VAC or 5 A @ 30 VDC. Electrical connections are made via terminal block.
Key Product Differences
Differences between models in the Series SCT are defined by their model number suffix, which dictates the output signal and power source:
- SCT10-100: Designed for 4 to 20 mA applications requiring an external 24 VDC supply.
- SCT10-102: Provides a self-powered 0 to 5 VDC output.
- SCT20-103: Provides a self-powered 0 to 10 VDC output with an extended range up to 150 A maximum continuous operating current.
All models share the same physical dimensions: height of 2-45/64 [68.6] in, width of 2-9/16 [65.0] in, and depth of 1-1/16 [26.9] in.
