Supported Applications

The Omega BB703 series is a portable, rugged, bench-top blackbody calibration source designed to test and calibrate infrared pyrometers. The unit features a built-in precision PID digital controller and includes a soft carrying case for field service or laboratory use.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The BB703 series provides a target plate temperature range of Ambient 10 to 400°C (Ambient 20 to 752°F). The internal control sensor is a Platinum RTD, Class A, 100Ω, alpha = 0.00385. Performance specifications include an accuracy of ±1.4°C (±2.5°F), a resolution of 0.1°, and stability of 0.3°C (±0.5°F). The target plate emissivity is 0.95.

Operating ambient conditions are limited to temperatures between 0 to 40°C (32 to 104°F) with humidity from 0 to 90% RH, non-condensing. A maximum setpoint reduction applies when operating at ambient temperatures in excess of 25°C (77°F). The unit is intended for indoor use only and includes a mechanical reset switch that opens the heater circuit during overheat conditions.
