Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series IT-W Industrial Thermometer Thermowells are designed to fit Series IT industrial thermometers with 3-1/2" and 6" stem lengths. These protection tubes serve two primary functions: they reduce installation cost and time by eliminating the need to drain the system when servicing thermometers, and they protect thermometers from high pressure, flow, and corrosive media.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series IT-W is engineered for environments requiring protection against specific process conditions. The documented performance envelope includes resistance to:

• High pressure
• Flow
• Corrosive media

Physical dimensions are standardized across the series with a diameter of 5/8 [Ø15.88]. The thermowells accommodate insertion lengths of 2-1/2" and 5", corresponding to stem lengths of 3-1/2" and 6" respectively.

Materials of Construction

Certain models include a 2-1/2" lag dimension, while others are listed as N/A for lag.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the Series IT-W differ by material composition and dimensional configuration. The model chart defines specific combinations:

• Brass variants (IT-W01, IT-W04, IT-W07): Available with 2-1/2" or 5" insertion lengths; the IT-W07 includes a 2-1/2" lag.
• 304 SS variants (IT-W11, IT-W14, IT-W17): Available with 2-1/2" or 5" insertion lengths; the IT-W17 includes a 2-1/2" lag.
• 316 SS variants (IT-W21, IT-W24, IT-W27): Available with 2-1/2" or 5" insertion lengths; the IT-W27 includes a 2-1/2" lag.

All models feature a process connection of 3/4-14 NPT. A California Proposition 65 warning applies to this product regarding exposure to chemicals including Lead, which is known to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.
