Supported Applications
The Omega SAP-RTD-Series consists of adhesive pad RTD sensors designed to take surface temperature measurements. These self-adhesive silicone pads are intended for use on both flat and curved surfaces. Documented applications include hot plate measurements, pipe measurements, and direct connection to instrument casings or motor housings to obtain accurate temperature readings.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within a measurement range of -50 to 200°C (-58 to 392°F). The sensing element is a 100 Ω Platinum RTD configured with 4-wire leads. Construction features an integral RTD element bonded onto the inner surface of exposed silicone material, which provides faster temperature response compared to non-bonded configurations.
Configuration Options
The SAP-RTD-Series is configurable across pad designations, wire lengths, and termination styles. The series supports two primary mounting geometries:
- SAPC: Pad for curved surfaces (0.59 X 1.97 X 0.29 in / 15 x 50 x 7.4 mm).
- SAPF: Pad for flat surfaces (1.41 x 0.48 x 0.29 in / 35 x 12 x 7.4 mm).
Standard wire lengths are available at 40, 80, and 120 inches, with other lengths offered as options. The lead wire is PFA-coated, 24 AWG. Termination defaults to stripped ends, though connector options are available.
Model Number Configuration
The series follows a specific model number guide: <PAD DESIGNATION> - <RTD TYPE> - <WIRE CONFIGURATION> - <ELEMENT RESISTANCE> - <TERMINATION> - <WIRE LENGTH>. An example configuration is SAPC-RTD-4-100-A-80, representing a self-adhesive silicone RTD sensor with 100 Ω resistance and 80 inches of PFA-coated lead wire.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the series are distinguished by pad geometry (SAPC for curved surfaces versus SAPF for flat surfaces) and standard or custom wire lengths. All variants utilize a silicone rubber housing material with an adhesive backing for surface mounting. The electrical configuration remains consistent across the family as a 100 Ω Platinum RTD with 4-wire leads.
