Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series 677B Differential Pressure Transmitters are designed to measure pressures as low as 0.1 in w.c. with ±0.4% accuracy. The series is suitable for building energy management systems, environmental pollution control, oven pressurization, lab and fume hood control, HVAC and VAV applications.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series 677B operates within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 185°F (-18 to 85°C) with a storage limit of -65 to 220°F (-54 to 105°C). Accuracy is specified as ±0.4% FS* at room temperature, where RSS (Root Sum Square) includes non-linearity, hysteresis and non-repeatability. Thermal effects are rated at <0.028% FS/°F across the operating range of 0 to 185°F (-18 to 85°C). The transmitter features a response time of approximately 10 ms.

Pressure limits include a service rating of 15 psi (100 kPa) and an overpressure limit up to 15 psid regardless of range. Wetted materials consist of 302 SS, glass, nickel, silicone rubber, and brass. The device is intended for use with air and non-conductive, non-corrosive gases.

Configuration Options

The series offers a broad selection of differential pressure ranges to accommodate specific low-pressure requirements:

  • Unidirectional Ranges (0 to X in w.c.): 0.1, 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2.5, 5, 10, and 25.
  • Bipolar Ranges (0 to ±X in w.c.): ±0.05, ±0.1, ±0.25, ±0.5, and ±1.

The transmitter provides a 4 to 20 mA DC, 2-wire output signal compatible with loads of 0 to 800 Ω. It requires a power supply between 16 to 32 VDC and includes internal regulation for use with unregulated DC sources. Electrical connections are made via internally accessible potentiometers.

Housing features include a NEMA 4 (IP65) enclosure with integral mounting tabs. The process connection is a 3/16" OD barbed brass pressure fitting, which incorporates filters in both high and low pressure ports for extreme dust or moisture conditions. Optional accessories include static pressure tips such as the A-489 (4" straight tip with flange) and A-302F-A (303 SS tip), along with a NIST traceable calibration certificate.

Key Product Differences

The Series 677B is distinguished by its model number suffix, which corresponds directly to the measurement range. Models ending in -01 through -08 represent unidirectional ranges from 0 to 0.1 up to 0 to 25 in w.c., while models -11 through -15 denote bipolar spans ranging from ±0.05 to ±1 in w.c.

The unit is factory calibrated and should require no field adjustment; zero and span offsets are intended to be corrected by software adjustment in the user's control system. The Series 677B is not field serviceable, and any repair requires returning the unit with a return goods authorization number.
