Supported Applications
The Omega SV6000 Series consists of internally piloted, 2-way solenoid valves designed for controlling the flow of compressed air, inert gas, synthetic oils, and water. These pilot-operated units feature brass bodies with stainless steel internal components (Armature Tube: Stainless Steel 300; Fixed Core/Plunger: Stainless Steel 400) to manage fluid media in industrial automation systems.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within a minimum pressure of 2 psi. Maximum Operational Pressure Differential (M.O.P.D.) varies by model and coil type:
- Solenoids SV6001, SV6002, SV6003: AC coils support up to 300 psi; DC coils support up to 150 or 300 psi depending on the specific model.
- Solenoids SV6004, SV6005: Both AC and DC coils support up to 230 psi.
- Solenoids SV6006, SV6007, SV6008: Both AC and DC coils support up to 150 psi.
Process temperature ranges depend on the O-ring material selected:
- Buna O-rings (Standard for larger sizes): -10 to 90°C (14 to 195°F).
- FKM O-rings: -10 to 137°C (14 to 280°F). Note: Buna O-rings are not recommended for synthetic oils; FKM is required.
Response times vary by model and condition, with opening time approximately 200 to 500 msec and closing time approximately 100 to 4000 msec. Standard equipment includes an 8 W coil (AC) unless otherwise specified; optional coils include 12 W or 14 W ratings for AC or DC operation.
Materials of Construction
The valve body is constructed from brass, with internal wetted parts including a stainless steel armature tube and plunger. Seals are available in Buna (standard) or FKM (optional via "-V" suffix). The shading ring is copper.
Configuration Options
The SV6000 Series offers extensive configuration options across pipe sizes, flow factors, and electrical specifications.
- Pipe Sizes: Available from 1/4" to 2" NPT (National Pipe Thread).
- Flow Factors (Cv): Ranges from 1.5 (SV6001) to 53 (SV6008), with specific orifice sizes matching the pipe dimension.
- Normally Closed/Normally Open: Models are available in Normally Closed (NC) and Normally Open (NO) configurations; NO variants include a "-NO" suffix (e.g., SV6004-NO).
- O-Ring Material Selection: Standard Buna O-rings can be upgraded to FKM by adding the "-V" suffix to the model number.
Electrical Options & Coils
Coil power ratings include 8 W (standard), 12 W, and 14 W. Voltage options cover:
- AC: 110 to 120 VAC/50-60 Hz; 220 to 240 VAC/50-60 Hz; specific frequencies such as 60 Hz only.
- DC: 12 Vdc and 24 Vdc.
Coil temperature ratings are Class F (up to 154°C / 310°F) or Class H (up to 182°C / 360°F), depending on the specific coil model. Electrical connections include a standard cable grip connector (SV-CGC); an optional ½" conduit connector (SV-CC) is available.
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between smaller models (SV6001–SV6003) and larger pilot-operated valves (SV6004–SV6008). Smaller units typically feature FKM O-rings as standard, while larger units default to Buna O-rings unless the "-V" suffix is applied. Dimensional differences are significant across the range; for example, SV6001 measures 1 3/8" x 3 1/8" x 2", whereas SV6008 measures 4 21/32" x 5 9/16" x 6 25/32".
Repair kits are available for each size group (VRK-6000, VRK-6045, VRK-6067, VRK-6008), with specific variants supporting FKM O-rings or NO configurations. The series carries CE certification and a 1-year warranty.
