Supported Applications

The Omega SV3200 Series consists of OMEGA-FLO® 2-way, normally closed (NC), direct-acting solenoid valves. These units are designed for use with compressed air, inert gas, water, and synthetic oils. The series features stainless steel construction with PTFE seal material to manage these media.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The SV3200 Series operates within a process temperature range of -10 to 137°C (14 to 280°F), limited by the FKM O-ring. Maximum ambient temperature is coil dependent, with specific ratings varying by model and insulation class.

Response times vary by power supply type: AC coils open in 10 to 20 msec and close in approximately 20 to 30 msec; DC coils open in 20 to 80 msec (depending on orifice and pressure) and close in approximately 20 to 30 msec. The valves support a cycling rate of approximately 1000 cpm with continuous duty cycle capability.

Maximum Operational Pressure Differential (M.O.P.D.) varies by model, pipe size, orifice, and coil type:

  • SV3201: Up to 435 psi AC; up to 360 psi DC.
  • SV3202: Up to 145 psi AC (standard); up to 85 psi DC. Higher pressure ratings of 360 psi AC and dual values for DC are available with specific coil configurations.
  • SV3203: Up to 85 psi AC; up to 25 psi DC. Higher pressure ratings of 220 psi AC and dual values for DC are available with specific coil configurations.
  • SV3204: Up to 50 psi AC; up to 15 psi DC. Higher pressure ratings of 100 psi AC and dual values for DC are available with specific coil configurations.

Voltage tolerance is ±10% as shown on the label.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable options across pipe size, orifice diameter, flow factor (CV), and electrical coils. All models feature a ¼" process connection with BSP threads; NPT is interchangeable in this size. Mounting position can be any orientation, preferably with the solenoid system upright.

Coil Options

The series supports multiple coil wattages (8 W, 12 W, and 14 W) for various AC/DC voltages including 12 Vdc, 24 Vdc, 110 to 120 Vac, 24 Vac, and 220 to 240 Vac. Coil molding materials include Black Polyester (Class F), Black Polyamide (Class F), Black Polyphenylenesulphide (Class H), and Black Epoxy Resin (Class H).

Electrical Connections

Standard equipment includes a strain-relief connector. Optional electrical connections include the SV-CGC cable grip connector or the SV-CC ½" conduit connector.

Key Product Differences

The series is differentiated by model number (SV3201 through SV3204), which corresponds to specific pipe sizes, orifice diameters, and CV flow factors:

  • SV3201: ¼" pipe size with a 3/32" orifice; CV Flow Factor of 0.22.
  • SV3202: ¼" pipe size with a ⅛" orifice; CV Flow Factor of 0.28.
  • SV3203: ¼" pipe size with a 5/32" orifice; CV Flow Factor of 0.35.
  • SV3204: ¼" pipe size with a 7/32" orifice; CV Flow Factor of 0.63.

Mechanical construction materials vary by component: the body and orifice are Stainless Steel 316, while the armature tube and spring use Stainless Steel 300. The fixed core and plunger utilize Stainless Steel 400, with a gold-plated copper shading ring.
