Supported Applications
The Omega CNiTH and DPiTH Series are high-accuracy instruments designed to monitor and control both temperature and relative humidity. The series includes controller versions (CNiTH) with selectable dual outputs for process regulation, as well as monitor-only versions (DPiTH). These units feature full autotune PID control capabilities and programmable ramp and soak functions.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The controllers measure relative humidity from 0 to 100% RH with a resolution of 0.1%. Temperature measurement ranges cover -40°C to 124°C for extended range probes, while the controller operating ambient temperature is specified as 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F) at up to 90% RH non-condensing.
Accuracy specifications vary by humidity level:
- ±0.5°C for temperature
- ±3% RH for 10 to 90% RH
- ±3.5% RH for 5 to 10% and 90 to 95% RH
- ±4% RH for 0 to 5% and 95 to 100% RH
The response time is documented as 8 seconds (tau 63%) for relative humidity and 5 to 30 seconds (tau 63%) for temperature. Hysteresis is ±1% RH.
Configuration Options
The series supports four DIN sizes: 1/32, 1/16, 1/8 horizontal dual display (i8DH), and 1/8 vertical dual display (i8DV). Enclosure ratings differ by size:
- i32 and i16D models feature a NEMA 4X (IP65) front bezel
- i8DH and i8DV models feature a NEMA 1 (IP23) front bezel
Control outputs are configurable via the model code, offering combinations of:
- Relay: Form 'C' SPDT; 250 Vac @ 3 A or 30 Vdc @ 3 A (resistive load)
- Solid State Relay (SSR): 20 to 265 Vac @ 0.05 to 0.5 A continuous
- DC Pulse: Non-isolated; 10 Vdc @ 20 mA for use with external SSRs
- Analog Output (Output 1 Only): Non-isolated control or retransmission of process value, selectable as 0 to 10 Vdc or 0 to 20 mA into a maximum load resistance of 500Ω. Accuracy is ±1% of full scale.
A limit alarm version (-AL) offers simplified menus without PID control; note that analog output (Option 5) is not available with -AL units. Power supply options include standard universal input (90 to 240 Vac ±10%, 50 to 400 Hz, or 110 to 300 Vdc) and low voltage inputs (20 to 36 Vdc/24 Vac for most models; 12 to 36 Vdc/24 Vac for iTH-32). Units can be powered safely with 24 Vac, though no UL certification is claimed for this specific configuration.
Network connectivity options include isolated RS232 and RS485/422 (300 to 19.2k Baud), Ethernet with Embedded Web Server (-EIT), or a combined hub option supporting up to 31 devices (-C4EIT). The -C4EIT or -EIT options are not available on the 1/32 DIN size.
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between monitor-only (DPiTH) and controller (CNiTH) versions. Physical dimensions vary by housing style: CNITH-i8DH measures 48 H x 96 W x 127 D mm, while the vertical variant CNITH-i8DV is 96 H x 48 W x 127 D mm.
Probe selection is required for all units. Options include a -2 probe with an insertion length of 51 mm (2") and a 1 m cable, or a -5 probe with an insertion length of 127 mm (5") and a 3 m cable. The probe diameter is 18 mm (0.63 in). Replacement probes are available as ITHP-2 and ITHP-5 accessories.
LED displays can be programmed to change color between green, amber, and red at alarm points. All instruments carry a 5-year warranty and are RoHS 2 compliant.
