Supported Applications

The Omega ON-930 Series consists of flag-mount thermistor sensors designed for surface temperature measurement. The aluminum housing facilitates rapid heat transfer, and the unit is configured for mounting via a #4 screw hole or epoxy.

Operating Conditions & Performance

Standard models in this series feature an interchangeability of ±0.2°C at 0 to 70°C with a maximum working temperature rating of 100°C (212°F). Optional thermistor elements are available with tighter interchangeability of ±0.1°C and a storage/working range for best stability from -80 to 75°C (-110 to 165°F), though these options have a maximum working temperature of 75°C (165°F).

Configuration Options

The series supports multiple resistance values, cable lengths, and connector configurations. Selection is based on the required sensor element performance, lead length, and termination type.

  • Sensor Elements: Available in five standard resistances at 25°C: 2252 Ω, 3000 Ω, 5000 Ω, 10000 Ω, and 30000 Ω.
  • Cable Lengths: Standard lengths are 300 mm (12") or 1 m (40"). Additional cable length is available by adding the required length in inches to the model number for additional cost.
  • Housing and Materials: Features an aluminum housing with overall dimensions of 8 mm depth, 13 mm height, and 8 mm width. Electrical connection uses 28 AWG stranded PFA insulated wire.
  • Connectors: Standard termination is stripped leads; a phone plug connector is available by adding "-PP" to the model number for additional cost.

Key Product Differences

Variants differ primarily in resistance value, interchangeability class, and cable length. The standard configuration (e.g., ON-930-44004) provides ±0.2°C interchangeability with a 100°C maximum working temperature. Models utilizing the optional thermistor codes from the "Optional Thermistors" table (such as resistance code 44034 for 5000 Ω) provide ±0.1°C interchangeability but are limited to a 75°C maximum working temperature.

Model numbers follow the format ON-930-<RESISTANCE_CODE>-<CABLE_LENGTH_CODE>-<CONNECTOR_CODE>. For example, ON-930-44004 denotes a 2252 Ω sensor with standard cable and stripped leads, while ON-930-44034-40-PP indicates the optional ±0.1°C thermistor element (5000 Ω), extended to 1 m (40") length, with a phone plug connector.
