Supported Applications

The OMEGAFLEX® CHEMICAL TUBING, PFA Formulation, TYTP Series is a flexible tubing with an almost transparent appearance, designed for chemical handling and fluid-transfer applications that demand outstanding chemical resistance and long service life. PFA tubing from OMEGA® is manufactured from the highest-grade resins, which provide outstanding physical and chemical-stress crack resistance and superior flex-life — qualities that make the series well suited to demanding, repeated-flexing and aggressive-media environments.

Unlike pipe, PFA tubing can be extruded in very long, continuous lengths, thus allowing for fewer connections across a run. Fewer joints mean fewer potential leak points, which benefits both process integrity and installation time. Because PFA is clear in color, the tubing also supports applications that rely on visual inspection of the media within the line.

The PFA formulation can be heat sealed and heat bonded, allowing fabricators to build sealed segments and custom assemblies. Since PFA packages have no splices, each length delivers uninterrupted, contamination-free routing.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The TYTP Series offers a very wide service temperature range of -196 to 260°C (-320 to 500°F), spanning cryogenic lows through high-temperature process conditions. This broad envelope is a key advantage of the PFA formulation for extreme-temperature fluid transfer.

Pressure performance is rated in psi @ 73°F and varies by model according to wall thickness and diameter, so each configuration should be matched to its intended working pressure.

Documented material properties include a Hardness of 60 (Shore D), a Specific Gravity of 2.15, and an Elongation at Break of 300%. The Brittle Temperature is documented at 170°C. The material also carries an ASTM 3307 designation.

Specifications given are typical. Field testing is recommended to find the actual operating specifications in the given application.

Configuration Options

All TYTP models share the same PFA wetted material and the same -196 to 260°C (-320 to 500°F) service temperature range; the models differ primarily in dimensions and the resulting pressure rating at 73°F.

The series follows the model-number format TYTP-<OD>-<LENGTH>. For example, TYTP-532332-50 denotes 50' of tubing with a 0.03" wall, 5/32" OD, and 3/32" ID. Wall thicknesses across the lineup range from thin walls up to the heavier 0.063" wall, and together with the bore size they set each model's rated pressure.

  • Smaller bores and thicker walls carry the highest pressure ratings.
  • Larger bores and thinner walls trade pressure capability for greater internal flow area.

The catalog spans both Imperial diameters and a Metric Diameters group covering 4 to 16 mm OD tubing, so the same PFA performance is available in inch- and millimeter-sized bores. Tubing is sold in standard coil lengths of 25, 50, and 100'.
