- Accuracy: Meets or exceeds Special Limits of Error (SLE) and EN 60584-2: Tolerance Class 1
- Process Temperature Range: Up to 450°F; Up to 900°F with glass-insulated leads
Probe Dimensions & Materials
The probes feature a 304 SS sheath. Available probe diameters include 1.5 mm (1/16"), 3.0 mm (1/8"), 4.5 mm (3/16"), and 6.0 mm (1/4"). Standard overall lengths are listed as 150 mm (6"), 300 mm (12"), and 1 m (40").
Configuration Options
The HTTC36 series supports multiple calibration types, lead wire insulation options, connector terminations, and junction configurations.
Calibration Types & Junctions
- Standard Calibration: J, K, T, E, or N (specified in model number)
- NB1 Replacement Probe Calibrations: CA, IC, CP, CX, NN for K, J, T, E and N respectively
- Junction Type: Grounded Junction is standard; Ungrounded probe available with 'U' suffix
Lead Wire & Insulation Options
- PFA-Insulated Lead Wire (Standard)
- Fiberglass insulated lead wire (GG suffix) for higher temperatures up to 900°F
- Glass-insulated leads available
- TW-SB: PFA with SS overbraiding; GG-SB: fiberglass with SB overbraiding and length in inches, for an additional cost
Connector Terminations & Housings
- Lead Wire Epoxy Potted into a 304 SS Sheath (Standard)
- Male SMP Miniature Connector available on Metal Handle Probe models (-SMPW-M suffix)
- -OSTW-M or -SMPW-M connector terminations
- Cast-aluminum handle for Metal Handle Probe variants
Process Connections & Lengths
- NPT hex fitting (1/2 x 1/2) for NB1 probe
- Compression fitting for Metal Handle Probe
- Probe lengths: Specify in inches from 1½ to 6" (38 to 150 mm); minimum 32 mm (1.25"); maximum 1.2 m (48")
- Lengths over 1.2 m (48") require consultation with the Custom Engineering Department; lengths over 1 m (40") incur additional cost per foot and model number modification
Approvals & Certifications
- Meets or exceeds Special Limits of Error (SLE) and EN 60584-2: Tolerance Class 1
Key Product Differences
The series is organized into three primary model families with distinct ordering structures:
- Low-Cost Hollow-Tube Thermocouple Probe (HTTC36): Model format HTTC36-(*)-116G-(**) through 14G, where (*) denotes calibration type and (**) denotes lead length. Lead wire AWG varies by diameter: 30 Solid for 1.5 mm; 24 Stranded for 3.0 mm; 20 Stranded for 4.5 mm and 6.0 mm.
- NB1 Replacement Probe with Lead Wire: Model format NB1-(*SS-14G-(**)-RP-†, supporting probe lengths up to 300 mm (12").
- Metal Handle Probe (MHP): Model format MHP-(*SS-14G-(**)-SMP featuring a cast-aluminum handle and Male SMP Miniature Connector.
Variations include the addition of suffixes for fiberglass insulation ('GG'), stainless steel overbraiding ('SB'), or ungrounded junctions (changing 'G' to 'U'). Custom configurations are available through the Quotations Department.
