Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series BTM3 Maximum/Minimum Bimetal Thermometer is designed to accurately measure current temperature while simultaneously tracking maximum and minimum readings. The series features an adjustment knob used to reset the minimum or maximum pointers to the current reading. Documented applications include monitoring in boilers, ovens, refrigerated cabinets, and general industrial environments.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series BTM3 operates within an ambient temperature range of 15 to 300°F (-10 to 150°C). The instrument provides a measurement accuracy of ±1% with a resolution of 2°. Wetted materials are constructed from 304 SS, and the housing material is specified as 300 SS. The unit features a scratch-resistant glass lens protecting a 3" dial.
Configuration Options
The series offers multiple configurations defined by stem length and temperature range options. All models utilize a back-connected design with a standard process connection of 1/2" NPT.
- Dial Size: 3"
- Stem Lengths: Available in lengths ranging from 2-1/2 to 12 inches.
- Temperature Ranges (°F / °C):
- -40 to 160 (-40 to 71.1)
- 0 to 140 (-17.8 to 60)
- 0 to 200 (-17.8 to 93.3)
- 50 to 300 (10 to 148.9)
- 150 to 750 (65.5 to 398.9)
- Housing Dimensions: Ø3-9/32 [Ø83.34] with a depth of 13/16 [20.64].
- Weight: 7.4 oz (210 g).
Key Product Differences
Variants within the Series BTM3 are distinguished by their specific stem length and selected temperature range, encoded in the model number structure (e.g., BTM3---). The series includes models with 2-1/2", 4", 6", 9", and 12" stems. Each stem length is paired with one of five available temperature ranges, resulting in a total configuration matrix covering low-temperature refrigeration applications up to high-temperature industrial processes.
