Defective EXTECH EX530
purchased a multimeter recently (order HQ02088673). I received the multimeter but it is defective out of the box. The voltmeter mV AC mode fluctuates up to 4 mv and never gives the same reading when I short the probes together. It never goes to (or near) zero. The best stable reading I got was 0.08 mV AC. It started to fluctuate again when I released and re-shorted the probes again. I bought the EXTECH EX530 for that specific mode. (resolution of 0.01 mV in AC). I don't mind a stable zero offset. But a drift of over 400 graduations is unacceptable.
There is also a problem with the ohm meter. It fluctuates and I can not trust the continuity function (beeb) as it comes on and off whit the probes on a short peaces of steel. Even with pressure applied.
I tried a different set of probes and it does the same thing.
