The Omega XTA-W5R26 series delivers some of the most advanced exotic thermocouple probes available today, engineered for ultra high-temperature applications up to 2315 °C (4200 °F). Built with rugged materials and special alloys, these probes allow you to take precise readings in furnaces, vacuum chambers, research labs, and metallurgical processes where standard sensors simply won’t hold up.
What makes the XTA-W5R26 stand out is its use of tungsten-rhenium or platinum-rhodium elements, combined with high-performance sheath and insulation materials like tantalum, molybdenum, hafnia, magnesia, or alumina. Depending on configuration, they thrive in inert, oxidizing, reducing, or vacuum atmospheres.
Equipped with multiple termination styles—including ceramic connectors or long lead wires—the probes are designed for both flexibility and durability. The XTA-W5R26 proves ideal for precision measurement where signal integrity matters most.
As with all Omega products, this series comes with strong quality control, calibration options, and reliable customer support. If you need temperature measurement that pushes the limits—these exotic thermocouple probes deliver both high performance and long-term stability.

Can this be put directly into an oven?
The metal probe portion sheath can be inserted into the oven but the connector is rated to only 650C so should not be exposed above it.

Hi, Is Platinum-Rhodium Alloy TC (coded as XPA, https://assets.omega.com/spec/XTA-W5R26.pdf) compatible with fluorine? if yes, then what is the maximum temperature that it can work at in fluorine gas medium? If not, what TCs are compatible? Thanks
Hi Jimmy,
Thank you for the inquiry. We offer a variety of sheath materials. We can provide test data on the sheath alloys used. End user will need to verify if their specific gas concentration, temperature , and presures will be compatible with the alloys used.
Best regards
