Supported Applications
The Omega PHE-4580-Series consists of By Pass pH/ORP Electrodes designed for liquid analysis and water quality monitoring. These electrodes are intended for use in applications requiring the measurement of pH or oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) within a bypass configuration.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The provided documentation does not contain specific technical performance specifications such as measurement ranges, accuracy classes, response times, operating temperature limits, pressure ratings, or physical dimensions for the PHE-4580-Series. As no specification tables are available in the source bundle, operational parameters must be verified against a dedicated product data sheet.
Configuration Options
The series is offered with four distinct part numbers representing different configurations within the By Pass pH/ORP electrode family:
- PHE-4580
- PHE-4581
- ORE-4580
- ORE-4581
The source documentation does not detail specific differences in sensor elements, sheath materials, process connections, or output signals between these variants.
Key Product Differences
Critical handling instructions for the PHE-4580-Series emphasize that pH electrodes must be kept moist to maintain functionality. Electrodes are shipped stored in either a soaker storage bottle or a rubber boot containing a potassium chloride solution.
- Storage: Place the electrode back in the provided soaker bottle or rubber boot after use. If the potassium chloride solution evaporates, replace it with pH buffer 4.0 or pH buffer 7.0 for storage.
- Prohibited Storage Media: Do not use distilled or deionized water for storage, as this will drastically reduce electrode lifespan.
- Drying Recovery: If the electrode dries out, soak it in pH buffer 4.0 solution for up to 2 hours. Extended periods of dryness may result in permanent damage.
- Crystal Formation: White crystals forming at the end of the electrode are potassium chloride; rinse with distilled water to dissolve them before use.
