Supported Applications

The Omega NB Series provides connection heads designed for sanitary applications. These protection heads serve as the interface point for thermocouple and RTD sensors, offering various configurations to accommodate different process requirements.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series is constructed from materials selected for specific service environments: Aluminum, Polypropylene, 316 stainless steel, and 321 stainless steel. Process connections are available in three tube entry sizes: ¼ NPT, ½ NPT, or ¾ NPT. Wire entries match the process connection size on most models (e.g., ½ NPT wire entry with ½ NPT tube entry), while specific Polypropylene variants feature a ¾ NPT wire entry paired with a ½ NPT tube entry.

Configuration Options

The NB Series is configurable across housing materials, connection sizes, and internal terminal block options. Models follow the naming convention NB<MODEL>-<TERMINAL_BLOCK_OPTION>, such as NB9W-4 or NB15-4.

Internal Terminal Blocks

The series supports internal terminal blocks from the CH Series. Options include:

• None: Models ending in "-0" have no internal block.
• 2-terminal ceramic blocks: Available as CH-49, CH-73, or CH-73/M12 depending on the model series.
• 4-terminal ceramic blocks: Available as CH-50, CH-74, or CH-74/M12 depending on the model series.

Connection Configurations by Model Family

• NB2 (Aluminum): ½ NPT tube entry and ½ NPT wire entry; options for None, 2 terminals (CH-49), or 4 terminals (CH-50).
• NB9W (Polypropylene): ½ NPT tube entry and ¾ NPT wire entry; options for None, 2 terminals (CH-73/M12), or 4 terminals (CH-74/M12).
• NB13 (316 stainless steel): ½ NPT tube entry and ½ NPT wire entry; options for None, 2 terminals (CH-73), or 4 terminals (CH-74).
• NB14 (321 stainless steel): ¼ NPT tube entry and ¼ NPT wire entry; options for None, 2 terminals (CH-73/M12), or 4 terminals (CH-74/M12).

Variants within the NB Series are distinguished by their material composition and terminal block integration. The Aluminum models utilize CH-49/CH-50 blocks, while stainless steel and Polypropylene models typically use CH-73 or CH-74 variants (with M12 options on specific series). Tube entry sizes differentiate the ¼ NPT NB14 family from the standard ½ NPT configurations found in most other models. The NB9W variant is unique within the series for its mismatched connection sizing, featuring a larger ¾ NPT wire entry compared to its ½ NPT tube entry.
