Supported Applications
The Omega ON-960 Series consists of flange-mounted non-linear thermistor probes designed for duct or through-wall air temperature measurements. These sensors feature a mounting flange with pre-drilled clearance holes for #6 screws, facilitating secure installation in airflow monitoring applications.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series supports process temperatures up to 100°C (212°F) for standard configurations. Standard thermistors provide an interchangeability of ±0.2°C over the range of 0 to 70°C, while optional high-stability elements offer ±0.1°C interchangeability at a maximum working temperature of 75°C (165°F). For optimal stability with these tighter-tolerance options, storage and operating temperatures should remain between -80 to 75°C (-110 to 165°F).
Configuration Options
The ON-960 Series is configurable across resistance values, cable lengths, terminations, and sensor interchangeability levels.
- Sensor Resistance: Available in five standard resistances at 25°C: 2252 Ω, 3000 Ω, 5000 Ω, 10000 Ω, and 30000 Ω.
- Cable Lengths: Standard models include 300 mm (12") of cable. Extended lengths are available by adding the required length in inches to the model number suffix.
- Terminations: Standard electrical connection is 28 AWG single strand PFA insulated wire with stripped leads. A phone plug connector option is available by appending 'PP' to the model number.
- Housing & Materials: The probe features a 300 Series stainless steel sheath and flange. Overall dimensions include a 25 (1) mm (inch) flange diameter, 3.8 (0.15) mm (inch) hole diameter, and 19 (0.75) mm (inch) hole spacing.
- High-Stability Options: Tighter interchangeability of ±0.1°C is achieved by substituting the standard thermistor with specific part numbers from the optional list (e.g., 44033, 44030, 44034, 44031, 44032).
Key Product Differences
Variants within the series differ primarily by resistance value and interchangeability class. Standard models (e.g., ON-960-44004 through ON-960-44008) utilize thermistors with ±0.2°C interchangeability rated to 100°C (212°F). Models configured for tighter tolerance use the optional thermistor part numbers listed in the specification table, which are limited to a maximum working temperature of 75°C (165°F).
Model numbering follows the pattern ON-960-<RESISTANCE>[-<CABLE_LENGTH>][-PP]. For example, adding '40' indicates a cable length of 1 m (40"), and appending '-PP' adds the phone plug connector. The series does not include built-in displays or active signal conditioning outputs.
