Supported Applications
The Omega PSW-150 Series consists of general purpose industrial differential pressure switches designed for laboratory and industrial applications. These devices utilize opposing metal bellows to detect pressure differences between two sources, operating a single snap-action electrical switch when the high port exceeds the low port by a pre-determined set point.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series offers differential pressure ranges from 0 to 6 psid up to 10 to 90 psid, with deadbands varying by model. Repeatability is specified at ±1% range, and ambient switch shift is rated at 0.04% range/°C.
Operating conditions are defined as follows:
- Ambient Temperature: -40 to 70°C (-40 to 158°F)
- Storage Temperature: -55 to 75°C (-67 to 167°F)
- Process Temperature (Brass and Phosphor Bronze): 120°C (248°F)
- Process Temperature (316 SS): 260°C (500°F)
- Shock: Setpoint repeats after 15 g at 10 ms duration
- Vibration: Setpoint repeats after 2.5 g at 5 to 500 Hz
Differential proof pressure limits range from 6 psi to 90 psi depending on the model, while static pressure ratings vary by bellows material and specific configuration.
Model-Specific Ranges and Materials
- PSW-151: 0 to 6 psid range; Brass bellows; Proof pressure 6 psi; Static pressure 30 inHg vac to 30 psi.
- PSW-152: 0 to 25 psid range; Phosphor bronze bellows; Proof pressure 25 psi; Static pressure 30 inHg vac to 110 psi.
- PSW-153: 0 to 40 psid range; Brass bellows; Proof pressure 40 psi; Static pressure 30 inHg vac to 180 psi.
- PSW-154: 0 to 70 psid range; 316 SS bellows; Proof pressure 70 psi; Static pressure 30 inHg vac to 350 psi.
- PSW-155: 10 to 90 psid range; Phosphor bronze bellows; Proof pressure 90 psi; Static pressure 30 inHg vac to 200 psi.
Configuration Options
The PSW-150 Series is housed in a cast aluminum enclosure with a gray enamel finish. The unit features high and low ports tagged for ease of installation, utilizing ¼ FNPT process connections on all models.
- Electrical Output: 1 SPDT switch rated at 15 A, 125/250/480 Vac
- Enclosure Connection: 22 mm (7/8") Dia. conduit port with screw terminals; maximum recommended wire size is 14 AWG.
- Adjustment: Set point adjustment via an internal hex screw accessible through the enclosure.
The series supports wetted materials including Brass, Phosphor Bronze, and 316 SS. Approvals include UL listed certification for industrial control equipment (UL LISTED 548A IND. CONT. EQ.) and CE marking. The product is made in the USA.
Key Product Differences
Variation within the PSW-150 Series is primarily defined by model number, which dictates the pressure range, deadband, proof pressure limit, static pressure rating, and bellows material. Models 151 through 155 cover distinct differential ranges from low-pressure applications (PSW-151) to higher differentials up to 90 psid (PSW-155).
Physical dimensions vary by model:
- Models PSW-151 and PSW-153: Overall dimension A is 8.06 inches [204.7 mm].
- Model PSW-152: Overall dimension A is 6.53 inches [165.9 mm].
- Model PSW-154: Overall dimension A is 6.88 inches [174.8 mm].
- Model PSW-155: Overall dimension A is 6.50 inches [165.1 mm].
All models share a common enclosure footprint of 76.2 mm (3.00 in) height, 64.2 mm (2.53 in) width, and 64.2 mm (2.53 in) depth.

Does the DP switch require a snubber to be installed on the water connection? How would one determine that a snubber is required in design and application?
Thank you for your inquiry, a snubber is not required for this unit.
