Supported Applications
The Dwyer Model BTK2 Backflow Prevention Test Kit is designed for testing hydronic systems using procedures recommended by ASSE, AWWA, CSA, FCCC, HR-USV, and NEWWA. The kit supports field testing of pressure vacuum breakers, reduced pressure principle backflow preventers, and double check valve assemblies.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Model BTK2 operates within a process temperature limit of 210°F (99°C) with a maximum pressure rating of 175 psi (12 bar). The series includes two distinct measurement ranges: a 4.5" diaphragm differential pressure gage covering 0 to 15 psid (0 to 1 bar), and a 1.5" in-line pressure gage covering 0 to 200 psi (0 to 14 bar). Accuracy specifications are ±2% FS for the 4.5" gage and ±3-2.3% FS for the 1.5" gage.
Configuration Options
The Model BTK2 is supplied as a complete assembly in a durable polyethylene carrying case measuring 9" H x 16" W x 9" D (228 mm H x 406 mm W x 228 mm D) with a weight of 8.9 lb (4 kg). The kit includes three valves and the following components:
- Three color-coded hoses, each 3' long
- Three sets of brass adapter fittings for standard size test cocks
- An elastic cord for hanging or mounting the unit in various areas
- A large needle valve and PTFE-lined brass ball valves to simplify adjustment procedures
The wetted materials across the assembly include anodized aluminum (4.5" gage), Buna-N diaphragm, brass for the 1.5" gage, ball valves, needle valve, hose couplings, and adaptors, with rubber hoses.
