High quality heater tape
This is a high quality heater tape that does exactly as specified. At 115 VAC & 1.7 Amperes it delivers the expected 195 watts. The only problem I had was finding a safe way to keep the tape securely wrapped around a spherical distillation flask.

Fiber glass heat tapes
Good product that has both ends connections or on one end. Come sub different lengths and still able to maintain the temperature needed. Very flexible now and easy to install. Prices are reasonable too.

Plug style is disappointing
The reason I give 3 stars is that I’ve purchased other heating tapes from Omega in the past, and what I did not like about these is the plug halves being at different ends. It causes problems in reaching the controller box and gets in the way when wrapping it around my sample cylinders. (I like to stretch out the tape from one end to the other to maximize distance covered.) The tapes themselves work very well in terms of heating, but I would urge others to consider the spatial constraints when purchasing.

Best heater tape on the planet
I used heater tapes like the ones I recently purchased from Omega for decades in various application at work, for several scientific research and engineering companies. Now retired, I wouln't consider buying any other brand.

If I wrapped the reactor using this heating tape to heat from 20 C upto 120 C for 100 s, can I assume that the total energy used is 420 W * 100 s = 42 kJ?
Omega provides the Wattage for the Heaters at the specified Voltage and any Energy calculations with a time component would be the customers responsibility.

What is the minimum bending radius of these tapes? Unfortunately, I couldn't find any information on your website or in the technical sheets about this.
Thank you for your inquiry. Minimum bend radius can be no less than twice the width of the tape.
