Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome heat conduction We bought this product for my cousin in SA. He has a mechanical seals manufacturing business. The only way to make a permanent seal is with heat...we could not find a more effective product with awesome heat conduction for this purpose. It works like magic.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dies early and often, even at 1/4 of rated power. Pretty expensive for something so fragile. Even run at 1/4 of total rated power, these only seem to last about 1 year.

Is 1400F (760C) mean reusable temperature or one-time?

Asked by: lc0312
The Heater tape will have to be attached to a Thermally Conductive surface across it's full length. What temperature that can be reached will depend on the Thermal mass and the Wattage of the specific Heater Tape. Once in place it is best to leave it in place as there will be some embrittlement. Running the Heater at full Voltage and power will reduce its expected useful life.

The Ultra-High Heating tape is not recommended for underground or wet environments. Look at self regulating or constant Wattage Heater tapes as a possible alternative.

What is a reliable temperature controller to use with heating tapes (Heating Tape STH051-080 for example? I am currently using an obsolete CN 9111A controller. These controllers worked fine but did not last very long (Mechanical relay and not SSR).

Asked by: Ubie
Thank you for your inquiry. The CN9111A suitable replacement would be a CNi1644 coupled with a SSRL240DC10 solid state relay.
