Supported Applications
The Omega DTC series consists of 4-Prong Dual Circuit Standard Size Thermocouple Connectors designed to perform the function of two standard connectors in a single unit. These connectors are used to join two pairs of thermocouple wires or connect one dual thermocouple with two extension wires.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The DTC series operates within an ambient temperature range of -29 to 180°C (-20 to 356°F). The housing is constructed from Glass-Filled Nylon. A note in the documentation indicates that minor discoloration of the connector may occur between 150°C (302°F) and 180°C (356°F), though electrical properties are not affected.
Configuration Options
The series supports multiple thermocouple types via specific alloy codes, with each model available as a male or female connector. The following configurations are documented:
- Type K (CHROMEGA®-ALOMEGA®, Yellow)
- Type T (Copper-Constantan, Blue)
- Type J (Iron-Constantan, Black)
- Type E (CHROMEGA®-Constantan, Purple)
- Types R/S (Pt/13%Rh-Pt, Green; uses Copper and RNX/SNX wires)
- Type U (Uncompensated, White; uses Copper for both + and -)
- Type N (OMEGALLOY®, Orange; OMEGA-P® / OMEGA-N®)
Model numbers follow the format DTC-<Alloy Code>-<Connector Type>, where 'M' specifies a male connector and 'F' specifies a female connector. Accessories include Crimp Style Bushings (available) and Cable clamp PCLM-DTC.
Key Product Differences
Variants differ by thermocouple alloy code, color coding per ANSI designations for Types K, T, J, E, R, S, and the generic Nicrosil-Nisil designation for Type N. The series offers both male (M) and female (F) connector types for each supported alloy.
