Supported Applications

The VT-110 is a hermetically sealed, 4-20 mA loop-powered industrial vibration velocity transmitter designed for monitoring vibration in harsh industrial environments. It measures vibration velocity and is intended for continuous machinery condition monitoring where a rugged, compact transmitter is required.

The transmitter interfaces directly with PLCs, DCS, or 4-20 mA monitors and complies with ISO 10816 standards, making it straightforward to integrate into existing plant instrumentation. Its compact size allows installation in tight spaces, and it features a glass-sealed M12 axial connector with dual case isolation and an IP 67 enclosure rating for reliable service in demanding conditions.

The unit mounts using a machine thread M8 x 1.25 and provides both an analog loop output and a dynamic signal output (buffer) for connection to external analyzers. Installation and operation require qualified personnel.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The primary output is an analog 4-20 mA, loop powered, proportional to vibration velocity in mm/s rms. It reads 4 mA ±5% at no vibration and 20 mA ±5% at full scale. A separate dynamic output (buffer) provides a sensitivity of 100 mV/g with a tolerance of ± 30 %. Output linearity is specified to a maximum of ±1%.

The transmitter is loop powered from a 10...30 VDC supply, and the maximum load resistance is defined by RI Max=(Vdc power -10V)/20mA. The mounted resonant frequency is 25 kHz.

Operating temperature depends on the loop current drawn:

  • Loop current max. 10 mA: -55...+120 °C
  • Loop current max. 20 mA: -55...+90 °C

The enclosure carries an IP 67 rating. The transmitter withstands 250 g peak continuous vibration and a 2,500 g peak shock acceleration limit, and it is CE marked.

Configuration Options

All VT-110 transmitters share the M12 axial connector and 4-20 mA loop-powered architecture; the variants differ in two selectable parameters encoded in the model number.

Frequency range is set by the first code position:

  • /01: 3...1,000 Hz
  • /02: 10...1,000 Hz

Measuring range is set by the second code position:

  • /020: 0...20 mm/s rms
  • /050: 0...50.8 mm/s rms

The /01 code selects the wider 3...1,000 Hz frequency range, while the higher-range measuring code raises full scale from 20 mm/s to 50.8 mm/s for machines with larger vibration amplitudes.

Key Product Differences

Model numbers follow the structure VT-110/<frequency_range_code>/<measuring_range_code>/CE/0, for example VT-110/01/020/CE/0. The four ordering combinations, all using the M12 axial connector, are:

  • VT-110/01/020/CE/0 — 3...1,000 Hz / 20 mm/s
  • VT-110/02/020/CE/0 — 10...1,000 Hz / 20 mm/s
  • VT-110/01/050/CE/0 — 3...1,000 Hz / 50.8 mm/s
  • VT-110/02/050/CE/0 — 10...1,000 Hz / 50.8 mm/s

Two connecting cables are available as accessories: the AC-1405/0050 standard overmolded cable with M12 connector, 5m length, and the AC-1406/0050 angle overmolded cable with M12 connector, 5m length.
