        Failed on First Try
I purchased the type N thermocouple to use for high temperature applications at 1250C. The Omega spec sheet says it should be good to 1338C, or at least to 1260C as listed on other sites. The first time using it at 1250C it failed within ten minutes. It doesn't help trying to figure out what's going wrong that the composition of the sheath, made of Omega-P and Omega-N cannot be found anywhere.

Hi, I have a question for your product KMQXL-062U-24, is the probe you sell bendable? And is there a need to buy extension wires to connect the thermocouple to the thermometer? Thanks!
Thank you for contacting Omega. Yes, we can confirm that the probe is bendable to 90 degrees. Depending on the application, the need to buy extension wires to connect the thermocouple to the thermometer will vary. This probe can be directly connected to a thermometer, which accepts the mini thermocouple connector. However, if the application is in a tight place, you may need extension wire to connect to a thermometer. Please contact our Tech Support if you have any further questions.

For probes such as KMQXL-062G-6, Super OMEGACLAD™ Thermocouple Probes - Quick D, do they come with a calibration cert? Do you need to calibrate it periodically?
The probes will come with a CAL-1 Certificate of Conformance and it is advised to check for calibration once per year or more frequently if used in a critical or at high temperatures.
