Supported Applications
The E57 Series are small-diameter inductive proximity sensors designed for use in extremely tight spaces, with housing diameters of 5 mm and 8 mm. These 3-wire devices detect the presence of metal targets without contact, making them well suited to automation equipment, robotics, machine tools, counting, and sorting.
Every model includes an LED indicator for at-a-glance status, and the sensors are available in both shielded and unshielded versions to match flush or non-flush mounting. Housings are stainless steel or Ni plated brass in a threaded-barrel format, so they thread directly into fixtures and brackets. The series carries CE approval.
Operating Conditions & Performance
All E57 sensors operate from 10 to 30 Vdc and are offered with NO (NPN) or NO (PNP) outputs. Sensing ranges span 0.8 mm, 1 mm, 2 mm, and 3 mm (Extended Range) depending on model. Repeatability is <1% sensing distance, accuracy is <1% sensing distance, and hysteresis is <15% rated sensing distance. Response time is <50 mS.
The ambient operating temperature range is -25 to 70°C (-13 to 158°F), and the enclosure meets NEMA 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12, and 13 (IP67). Sensors connect either as cable models or via a 4-pin micro DC connector.
Mechanically, the 5 mm housing has an M5 x 0.5 thread with SW8 nut width and an overall length of 25 mm. The 8 mm housing uses an M8 x 1 thread with SW13 nut width; the cable version is 30 mm long, while the micro-connector version is 50 mm long.
Configuration Options
Variants differ along four axes encoded in the part number: housing diameter, sensing range, output polarity, and connection type. The 5 mm stainless-steel models (E57EAL5T110SP and E57EAL5T111SP) provide end sensing at a 0.8 mm range, in shielded NPN or shielded PNP respectively, both with a 2 m cable.
The 8 mm Ni-Brass models step the sensing range by build code: GS01 gives a 1 mm range, GU02 a 2 mm range, and GE03 a 3 mm Extended Range. Within each, the trailing suffix sets output and connection — -C is shielded NPN on a 2 m cable, -CDB is shielded NPN on the 4-pin micro DC connector, -G is shielded PNP on a 2 m cable, and -GDB is shielded PNP on the micro connector.

How close can these sensors be placed beside each other? Is there interference between them? Do the shielded modes reduce/prevent this?
