Thank you for your inquiry about the ultrasonic flow meter. Unfortunately, the transducers that wrap or strap around the pipe cannot be submersed in water in general. It will be deemed useless and not transmit any signal.

If there is suspended particles greater than 100 microns and 100 ppm in concentration at all times, then, we highly recommend the Doppler style ultrasonic flow meter. If it is intermittently flowing thru the flow meter, it will not hurt the accuracy since it will average the flow when it updates.

Yes, turbulent flow can skew velocity readings, especially during pipe cleaning or flushing.
