The Series DDA/DDC Direct-Coupled Actuator range from Dwyer delivers a compact, high-performance solution for positioning dampers and valves in HVAC systems requiring 17 to 70 in-lb (2 to 8 Nm) of torque.
With direct-mount capability onto 0.4″ (10 mm) or 0.5″ (13 mm) shafts, the actuator eliminates the need for external linkage and oversized mechanics. A clear visual travel indicator shows shaft position, while the push-button manual override offers convenient hand operation during maintenance or setup. A built-in magnetic clutch protects against over-torque conditions, delivering quieter operation (under 45 dB) and a reliable service life rated to 60,000 full cycles.
Control flexibility is a strong point: the DDA variant handles floating (two-position) control signals, making it ideal for simple open/close damper applications. The DDC variant elevates control sophistication with modulating inputs (4–20 mA or 0–10 VDC) and supplies a 0–10 VDC feedback signal, enabling integration with building automation systems for precise flow or air handling control.
Housed in a NEMA 2 (IP40) enclosure, the actuator is rated for temperatures from -22 °F to 122 °F (-30 °C to 50 °C) and is designed for CW/CCW rotation with a 95° mechanically adjustable stroke. Electrical connection is via screw-terminal block using 18 AWG wiring; power consumption is low (3–5 VA typical) depending on input voltage.
In sum, the DDA/DDC Series offers HVAC and building control professionals a streamlined, durable actuator solution suited to both basic two-position and advanced modulating control needs - all with minimal external hardware, clear diagnostics, and long-term reliability.
