Supported Applications

The Omega IP610 series consists of miniature I/P transducers designed for electronic air pressure control. These devices convert a 4 to 20 mA electrical input signal into a proportional pneumatic output pressure, serving as current-to-pressure converters in industrial control systems.

  • Industrial process control loops requiring precise regulation
  • Systems utilizing clean, dry, oil-free instrument air filtered to 40 microns

Operating Conditions & Performance

The IP610 series operates within an ambient temperature range of -30°C (-20°F) to +65°C (+150°F). The unit features a chromate-treated aluminum housing with epoxy paint, rated NEMA 4X (IP65), and includes external zero and span adjustments. Performance specifications vary by output configuration:

  • Standard Range Models: Accuracy of ±1.0% span; Hysteresis and Repeatability <±0.5% of span
  • Zero-Based Range Models (e.g., 0 to 30 psi): Accuracy of ±2.5% span; Hysteresis and Repeatability <1.0% of span

Air consumption for standard range models is typically 1.8 scfh at mid-range, while zero-based units consume approximately 6.0 scfh at mid-range.

Configuration Options

Output Ranges and Supply Pressure

The series supports multiple pneumatic output ranges to accommodate different control requirements:

  • Standard Range Outputs: 3-15 psi, 3-27 psi, 6-30 psi, 2-60 psi, 3-120 psi
  • Zero-Based Range Outputs: 0-30 psi, 0-60 psi, 0-120 psi

Supply pressure requirements depend on the selected range:

  • For 3-15, 3-27, and 6-30 psi ranges: Supply up to 100 psig (6.90 BAR) max.
  • For 2-60 and 3-120 psi ranges: Supply up to 150 psig (10.00 BAR) max.

Mounting, Connections, and Materials

The IP610 series offers flexible installation options including direct wall mounting, panel mounting, 1½" pipe mounting, or DIN rail mounting with the optional IP610-DM kit. Electrical connections are available via a ½ FNPT conduit or an optional DIN connector (add suffix '-D' to model number). The pneumatic process connection is ¼ FNPT.

  • Wetted Materials: Buna-N elastomers, stainless steel trim
  • Housing Material: Chromate-treated aluminum with epoxy paint

Key Product Differences

The IP610 series distinguishes between standard range and zero-based configurations. Standard range models (e.g., IP610-X15) provide outputs starting at non-zero pressures such as 3 psi or 6 psi, offering ±1.0% span accuracy. Zero-based models (e.g., IP610-30) start output from 0 psi and are specified with ±2.5% span accuracy.

Impedance values vary by model: standard range units typically present impedances between 180 Ω and 280 Ω, while zero-based models show higher impedance ranging from 290 Ω to 315 Ω. The series also includes a DIN rail mounting kit (IP610-DM) as an accessory option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from it works - use both 60 psi and 120 psi units Used for over 1 yr. They stay calibrated. Have a few inverted to work as 60 - 2 psi so that a 4 ma they are at full pressure.

Does this unit function off of differential pressure such that it can this be used as a vacuum pressure regulator? Say with the supply input exposed to atmospheric pressure and the output exposed to vacuum

Asked by: Engineer2023
It will not function as vacuum pressure regulator. It only can be used to control positive pressure.
