They seem to be adapters, and do a good job of converting my OST thermocouples to the SMP adapters that fit my thermocouples. I haven't actually used them yet (and probably won't until next fall), so I'm giving them 3 stars on everything.

What are the dimensions on the male mini connection? The Type 2 (female STD to male mini) appears to taper out. I need to make sure itll fit inside a Amprobe TMD-56 where the mini connections are recessed ~8mm into the meter.

Thank you for your inquiry. That will not fit a recessed miniature connection. Try using the REC(*)1-4 https://www.omega.com/en-us/temperature-measurement/temperature-wire-and-cable/extension-wires-and-cables/tec-rec-gec/p/RECK1-4
