Supported Applications
The Omega OM-CP-THERMOVAULT is a thermally insulated, battery-powered, stand-alone data logger designed for thermal profiling of events. It records temperature inside an oven for later downloading to a PC.
Operating Conditions & Performance
This single-channel thermocouple input device measures and records up to 500,000 temperature measurements with non-volatile solid-state memory. The logger features a real-time clock for time-stamped data retrieval via USB interface (interface cable required). Accuracy specifications are ±0.5°C for J, K, T, E, N thermocouples and ±2.0°C for R, S, B types; accuracy does not include errors due to the thermocouple.
Measurement ranges by type:
- J: -270 to 760°C
- K: -270 to 1370°C
- T: -270 to 400°C
- E: -270 to 980°C
- R: -50 to 1760°C
- S: -50 to 1760°C
- B: 50 to 1820°C
- N: -270 to 1300°C
Resolution is 0.1°C for J, K, T, E, N types and 0.5°C for R, S, B types. The ambient operating temperature range is -40 to 80°C (-40 to 176°F), with a process operating temperature of -40 to 400°C (-40 to 752°F). Humidity rating is 0 to 95% RH non-condensing.
Maximum exposure duration varies by ambient temperature, assuming the logger box is initially at 25°C:

Configuration Options
The series includes a compact, portable enclosure constructed of ABS Plastic for the logger and 304 stainless steel with PTFE insulation for the thermal box. Overall dimensions are 64 H x 129 L x 113 mm D (2.5 x 5.1 x 4.5"). The unit weighs 1.59 kg (3.5 lbs) and is powered by an included 3.6 V lithium battery.
Output signals include date and time stamped data in °C, °F, K, °R, μV, mV, or V formats. Data can be exported to graphical, tabular, text, or Microsoft Excel formats using the provided software which converts a PC into a real-time strip chart recorder.
Available options and accessories include:
- OM-CP-THERMOVAULT-CERT: Oven temperature data logger with NIST calibration certificate (optional).
- OM-CP-IFC200: Windows software and 1.8 m (6') USB interface cable.
- OM-CP-SVP-SYSTEM: FDA 21 CFR part 11 compliant IQ/OQ/PQ secure software validation workbook and software package (unlimited users, license per computer).
- OM-CP-BAT105: Replacement 3.6V lithium battery.
The device features a fixed 2 position screw terminal for electrical connection. Approvals include CE and optional NIST certification.
Key Product Differences
The base model OM-CP-THERMOVAULT is the standard oven temperature data logger. The OM-CP-THERMOVAULT-CERT variant includes a NIST calibration certificate. Software validation capabilities are provided via the separate OM-CP-SVP-SYSTEM option for FDA 21 CFR part 11 compliance.
