Supported Applications
The Omega HANI™ Clamp Sensor series provides non-invasive temperature measurement for fluids inside industrial plastic pipes. Designed specifically for hybrid sensing applications, the sensor clamps to the outside of the pipe without requiring process intrusion or fluid contact.

- Nominal Pipe Sizes: 1" and 2" nominal sizes are standard; other diameters are offered on request.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The HANI series operates within a process temperature range of -20 to 100 °C (-4 °F to 212 °F) for liquid media. Ambient operating conditions must remain between 0 to 40 °C (32 to 104 °F). The sensor achieves an accuracy of ±1.5 °C from the factory when fluid is flowing, with improved accuracy possible through in-situ calibration.
Performance characteristics include a response time of 30 seconds for t63 and 60 seconds for t90. The device carries an IP67 environmental rating when mated to its connector. Electrical operation requires a loop-powered supply between 8 VDC and 28 VDC.
Configuration Options
The series supports multiple configuration options across outputs, connectivity, calibration, and accessories to accommodate diverse installation needs.
Sensor Outputs & Connectivity
- Analog Output: 4 to 20 mA loop powered analog output (user scalable; default scaling is 0 to 100 °C).
- Digital Interface: Omega Link connectivity featuring I2C Clock Signal, I2C Data Signal, and Interrupt Signal.
Housing & Materials
The sensor housing consists of PA12, silicone rubber, nickel-plated brass, and stainless steel. The overall dimensions are 60.3 W x 64.31 L x 51.54 mm H (2.38" W x 2.53" L x 2.03" H). Electrical connection is provided via an M12 8-Pin connector.
Calibration Options
- CAL-3: Factory-performed 3-point calibration at 10 °C, 50 °C, and 90 °C (included in models with -CAL-3 suffix).
- CAL-4: User-selected number and value of temperature points; requires a quote.
Accessories & Interfaces
The series is compatible with Omega Link Smart Interfaces, including USB (IF-001), RS485/Modbus (IF-002), and Wireless interfaces for North America (915 MHz) or Europe (868 MHz). Additional accessories include M12 8-Pin T-splitters, field install connectors, and dual M12 cables in lengths of 1m, 3m, and 5m with straight or right-angle terminators.

The series is distinguished by pipe size compatibility and calibration status. Standard models (e.g., HANI-C-1.0I-P-MA) provide factory accuracy of ±1.5 °C for 1" or 2" pipes without additional certification documentation in the model name.
Models with the -CAL-3 suffix (e.g., HANI-C-1.0I-P-MA-CAL-3) include a certificate and calibration at three specific temperature points, maintaining the same ±1.5 °C accuracy specification but offering verified traceability for quality assurance workflows.
