Supported Applications

The Omega TSW-TT Series consists of bi-metal immersion temperature switches designed for low voltage and low current applications requiring economical temperature control. These devices activate with a rise in temperature, providing direct action switching suitable for environments rated NEMA 4 and NEMA 13.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series offers factory-preset setpoints ranging from 4 to 149°C (40 to 300°F) with a tolerance of ±2.8°C (5°F). The maximum process temperature is rated at 163°C (325°F), and the switches are designed to withstand an external pressure up to 5000 psi. Electrical performance includes current ratings of 3 A @ 240 Vac or 2 A @ 24 Vdc for resistive loads.

Key physical specifications include:

  • Probe Diameter: ø9.5 mm (0.38 in)
  • Insertion Length: 25.4 mm (1")
  • Process Connection: ¼ NPT male
  • Electrical Connection: 152.4 mm (6") wire leads

Contact and Circuit Details

The switches feature gold diffused fine silver contacts with minimum hysteresis. The circuit form is available as SPST-NO or SPST-NC depending on the specific model selection.

Configuration Options

The TSW-TT series provides a comprehensive range of fixed setpoints to accommodate diverse control points within the 4°C (40°F) to 149°C (300°F) envelope. Variants are distinguished by their contact configuration and specific temperature activation point.

  • Contact Types: Models are available with Normally Open (NO) or Normally Closed (NC) contacts.
  • Setpoint Increments: Factory-preset options cover the full range in 10°F increments, starting at 4°C (40°F) and extending to 149°C (300°F).
  • Housing Rating: All variants are suitable for NEMA 4 and NEMA 13 environments.

Key Product Differences

The primary distinction between models in the TSW-TT series is the contact state (Normally Open vs. Normally Closed) and the specific setpoint temperature encoded in the model number. The ordering pattern follows TSW-TT-F<CONTACT_TYPE><SETPOINT>0R/WL.

  • Normally Open Models: Identified by the suffix "F3A" (e.g., TSW-TT-F3A-100R/WL for 4°C/40°F).
  • Normally Closed Models: Identified by the suffix "F3B" (e.g., TSW-TT-F3B-100R/WL for 4°C/40°F).

The series carries RoHS compliance and includes a 1 YEAR WARRANTY. Specific wetted materials, sheath material, or housing material are not specified in the source documentation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Leads are way too short. Good unit for the price, but the leads are way to short to be usable without splicing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Temperature sensor Works as expected. A bit disappointed that it came with individual conductors as flying leads as opposed to a cable with jacket as pictured. Reviewing the description in detail it is indeed stated it comes with conductors. I suggest updating the picture.

Please clarify NO vs NC. The TSW-TT-F3B-90R/WL is a NC model. Its temperature SP is 90 deg-F. Does this mean that the contacts are closed at 60 deg-F and open at 100 deg-F?

Asked by: hhggzz
Thank you for your inquiry. All switches activate with a rise in temperature meaning the relay will switch its state when the temperature exceeds the set point.

If contact opens at 230 Degrees F, what temperature closes circuit again? Also is this compatible with 120v (AC)? Thank you.

Asked by: Al1510
Thank you for your inquiry Al1510. The relay contact would close when the temperature drops below 230 F and yes this is compatible with 120 VAC.
