Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series DCT500A Timer Controller is a timing system designed for pulse-jet type dust collectors and pneumatic conveying systems. It supports both continuous cleaning applications and on-demand cleaning modes.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The controller operates within an ambient temperature range of -40 to 140°F (-40 to 60°C) as specified in the series data sheet, with a storage temperature limit of -40 to 176°F (-40 to 80°C). The unit is rated for indoor use and must be installed within a weather-proof enclosure if used outside. Power requirements are 102 to 132 VAC at 50 or 60 Hz, with power consumption of 2.5 W.
Timing performance includes an On Time range of 50 msec to 500 msec with ±10 msec accuracy and ±1 ms stability. The Off Time ranges from 1 s to 180 s with ±5% of setting accuracy. Each channel supports a solenoid supply up to 3A max.
Configuration Options
The series is available in configurations providing 4, 6, or 10 output channels. All units share the same physical dimensions (width: 6-1/4 [158.75], height: 4-1/4 [107.95]), minimizing enclosure space requirements.
Configuration options include:
- -COC: Certificate of conformance
- -COO: Certificate of U.S. origin
- -H: Horizontal mounting
- -L: Large base plate
- -R: Random off feature
- -WP: Weatherproof housing
- -SC: Stop on clean
- -TO: 10 second time on (factory-installed option for a time range of 0.05 to 10 seconds)
Electrical connections utilize a "Euro" style connector system accepting wire sizes from 14 to 22 gages, copper only with at least 60°C or 60/75°C rated insulation. Terminals should be torqued to 5 in. lb.
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes itself by channel count: DCT504A provides 4 channels, DCT506A provides 6 channels, and DCT510A provides 10 channels. For installations requiring fewer channels than available on the board, a shorting plug is provided to allow selection of the last used channel.
Control inputs include high-limit and low-limit switches for use with on-demand systems; in continuous mode, the high-limit input is jumped. The control circuitry, including control inputs and the last channel jumper, is isolated from the power line for safety.
