Supported Applications
The Omega SV3100 Series consists of OMEGA-FLO® 2-way, normally closed (NC), direct-acting solenoid valves. These units are designed for use with compressed air, inert gas, water, and synthetic oils.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within a process temperature range of -10 to 137°C (14 to 280°F). Ambient operating temperatures are coil dependent. Maximum operational pressure differential (M.O.P.D.) varies by model, with AC coils rated from 30 to 430 psi and DC coils rated from 30 to 220 psi.
Response times differ based on power supply type:
- Closing time (AC/DC): Approx. 20 to 30 msec
- Opening time (AC): 10 to 20 msec
- Opening time (DC): 20 to 80 msec (depending on orifice and pressure)
The valves support a cycling rate of approx. 1000 cpm with a continuous duty cycle (100%). Voltage tolerance is ±10%.
Variants by Pressure Rating
- SV3101 / SV3106: M.O.P.D. 430 psi (AC) / 220 psi (DC)
- SV3103 / SV3108: M.O.P.D. 290 psi (AC) / 150 psi (DC)
- SV3104 / SV3109: M.O.P.D. 175 psi (AC) / 85 psi (DC)
- SV3105 / SV3110: M.O.P.D. 85 psi (AC) / 30 psi (DC)
Configuration Options
The series is available in two pipe sizes: 1/8" and 1/4", with orifice sizes ranging from 1/16" to 5/32". Cv flow factors range from 0.10 to 0.35 depending on the model.
Materials of Construction
- Body, Armature Tube, Orifice: Brass
- Fixed Core, Plunger: Stainless Steel 400
- Spring: Stainless Steel 300
- Shading Ring: Copper
- Sealing Material: FKM
Coil and Electrical Options
The series supports various coil configurations with Class F or Class H insulation. Standard equipment includes a strain-relief connector; 1/2" conduit plugs are available.
- AC Coils: 8 W, options include 110 to 120 Vac (50-60 Hz), 24 Vac (50-60 Hz), and 220 to 240 Vac (50-60 Hz).
- DC Coils: 8 W, options include 12 Vdc and 24 Vdc.
Coil molding materials are Black Polyester or Black Polyamide for Class F, and Black Polyphenylenesulphide for Class H. Replacement coils (e.g., SV8COIL-115AC) and connectors (SV-CGC, SV-CC) are offered as accessories.
Process Connections
The valves utilize BSP threads; in most cases, BSP and NPT are interchangeable for this size. Mounting position is any orientation, preferably with the solenoid system upright.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the SV3100 Series differ primarily by pipe size (1/8" or 1/4") and internal orifice diameter. The model number indicates these dimensions, such as SV3105 for a 1/8" valve with a 5/32" orifice.
Coil specifications vary by voltage class and temperature rating:
- Class F Coils: Rated to 154°C (310°F) for most AC options; specific DC coils also rated to 154°C (310°F).
- High-Temp Class H Coil: SV8COIL-115/60HZ is rated to 182°C (360°F).
The series carries CE approval and includes a one-year warranty. These products are not designed for human applications or use in nuclear installations under 10 CFR 21.
