Supported Applications

The Omega OM-CP-MOTOR101A Series is a Machinery On/Off Data Logging System, part of the NOMAD® Family. It measures and records on/off status changes for motors, fans, pumps, and other equipment drawing up to 200 Amps. The system uses a current switch to monitor current flow through a wire, triggering a state change at a defined trip point.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within an ambient temperature range of -15 to 40°C (5 to 104°F) and humidity levels from 10 to 90% RH non-condensing. It monitors current in the range of 0.15 to 200 A with a fixed trip point of 0.15A (150 mA), or 200 mA AC for 50 Hz operation. The device features time accuracy of ±1 minute/month at 20°C/68°F in stand-alone data logging mode.

Configuration Options

The OM-CP-MOTOR101A Series is available in configurations that include the data logger and current switch with or without software. The system utilizes a split-core current switch housing made of ABS plastic, allowing installation around existing conductors.

  • Model Configurations:

The series offers two primary ordering options: OM-CP-MOTOR101A-KIT (includes data logger, current switch, and software/cable) or OM-CP-MOTOR101A (data logger and current switch only; software sold separately).

  • Start Modes: Immediate start, delay start up to 18 months, or multiple pushbutton start/stop
  • Password Protection: Optional password programming restricts access to configuration options while allowing data readout without the password
  • Engineering Units: Native measurement units can be scaled to display alternative types such as on/off or open/closed
  • Data Retrieval: USB interface (cable required) connects at 115,200 baud for real-time monitoring and data export to text or Microsoft Excel® files
  • Software Compatibility: Windows XP SP3/Vista/7 and 8 (32- and 64-bit)

Key Product Differences

The series distinguishes between the complete kit configuration, OM-CP-MOTOR101A-KIT, which includes the data logger, current switch, and OM-CP-IFC200 Windows software with USB interface cable. The base model, OM-CP-MOTOR101A, includes only the data logger and current switch; the OM-CP-IFC200 software and 1.8 m (6') USB interface cable are sold separately.

Physical dimensions differ by component: the Data Logger measures 36 x 56 x 16 mm (1.4 x 2.2 x 0.6") with a weight of 113 g (4 oz), while the Current Switch measures 54 x 89 x 26 mm (2.1 x 3.5 x 1.0").
