Supported Applications

The Omega LVCN210 Series is an ultrasonic level transmitter and controller designed for continuous measurement in small to medium tanks. As a non-contact sensor, it replaces float, conductance, and pressure sensors that may fail due to contact with dirty, sticking, or scaling media. The series supports general-purpose applications including day tank, skid, IBC, sump, machine, tool, and process tank level monitoring.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The LVCN210 Series provides a measurement range of 3 m (9.8') with an accuracy of ±0.2% of range and a resolution of 1 mm (0.039"). The sensor operates within a process temperature range of -7 to 60°C (20 to 140°F) and an ambient temperature range of -35 to 60°C (-31 to 140°F). It features automatic temperature compensation.

Performance specifications include a dead band of 10 cm (4") and a beam width of 5.08 cm (2"). The unit is rated for a Maximum Working Pressure (MWP) of 2 bar (30 psi). The enclosure carries a Type 6P rating, described as encapsulated, corrosion resistant, and submersible.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable outputs, switching capabilities, and mounting options to accommodate specific installation needs. Key configuration parameters include:

• Signal Output: 4 to 20 mA two-wire loop powered by 24 Vdc (loop). Signal invert is available as 4 to 20 mA or 20 to 4 mA.
• Fail-Safe Logic: Configurable signal fail-safe options include 4 mA, 20 mA, 21 mA, 22 mA, or hold last. Contact fail-safe logic for power loss is set to Hold last; echo loss can be configured as Open, close, or hold last.
• Relay Outputs: Four (4) SPST relays with a contact rating of 60 VA, 1A maximum. Hysteresis is selectable for the LVCN210 model.
• Process Connection: Standard 1 NPT thread; optional 1" G thread available by adding "-G" to the model number.
• Housing & Materials: Polycarbonate enclosure with a PVDF transducer. The mount gasket is FKM, and the cable jacket is Polyurethane (9-conductor, shielded).

The sensor includes non-volatile memory for configuration retention. Configuration is performed via free PC Windows® USB 2.0 software using an optional USB connector.

• LVCN210: Includes a level transmitter with 4 to 20 mA signal, four relays, and an integrated USB connector for configuration.
• LVCN210-B: Level transmitter with 4 to 20 mA signal and four relays; requires the separate LVCN414-USB accessory for software configuration.

The series is distinct from other family members (LVCN318, LVCN414) which offer different measurement ranges up to 5.5 m or alternative output signals such as voltage and frequency. The LVCN210 Series specifically targets the 3 m range with integrated relay control.
