Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series CSE-3R Galvannealed Steel Enclosures are spot-welded, wall-mounted units designed to house electrical controls, instruments, and components in an outdoor environment. These enclosures provide protection for installed equipment against weather elements while maintaining accessibility via 180° hinges.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series carries a NEMA 3R (IP32) rating for outdoor service. Construction materials consist of galvannealed steel for the enclosure body, with all other components fabricated from carbon steel. The units are UL Approved and CSA certified, meeting cULus standards. Additionally, the enclosures meet the technical requirements of EU Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS II).

Material thickness varies by component and enclosure size:

• Drip shields: 0.048" (1.22 mm)
• Enclosures < 24" wide: 0.060" (1.52 mm)
• Enclosures ≥ 24" wide: 0.075" (1.91 mm)
• Sub-panels: 0.125" (3.18 mm)
• Mounting straps: 0.078" (1.98 mm)

Configuration Options

The Series CSE-3R is available in multiple configurations defined by height, width, and depth dimensions. The model number follows the format CSE-3R-<HEIGHT>-<WIDTH>-<DEPTH>. Standard stocked sizes include models ranging from 16" (41 cm) to 36" (91 cm) in height, with widths up to 30" (76 cm). Sub-panels and mounting straps are sized relative to the enclosure dimensions: sub-panel height equals enclosure height minus 3" (76 mm), sub-panel width equals enclosure width minus 3" (76 mm), and mounting strap width equals enclosure width minus 4" (102 mm).

Available options include:

• A-CSE-K: Replacement keys, includes 2 keys.
• A-CSE-L: Keylocking wing knob door latch, Includes 1 lock and 2 keys.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the series differ primarily by physical dimensions (height, width, depth) and corresponding weight. The drip shield width matches the enclosure width exactly. For larger enclosures such as CSE-3R-362408 and CSE-3R-363008, mounting straps are not listed in the standard model chart configuration.
