Supported Applications

The Omega OS35RS Series is a discontinued non-contact infrared temperature sensor featuring smart linearization. Designed as a plug-and-play solution, the series combines an OS36-SM remote sensor head with an OS35 platform for signal processing and analog output generation.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The OS35RS Series maintains accuracy without drifting across ambient temperature changes from -45 to 100°C (-49 to 212°F). The sensor head measures 6.3 mm (0.25") in diameter, described as the smallest sensor head in its market segment at the time of release.

• Measurement Ranges: 0 to 100°C (32 to 212°F), 0 to 250°C (32 to 482°F), -30 to 70°C (-22 to 158°F), and 0 to 500°C (32 to 932°F).
• Optics: Available with 1:2 field of view or 4:1 field of view.

Configuration Options

The series supports multiple configuration options for mounting, output signals, and power supplies. The transmitter housing is constructed from aluminum with overall dimensions of 92 x 34.9 x 19.4 mm (3.6 x 1.3 x 0.76").

Output Signals & Power Supply

• Outputs: 4 to 20 mA, 0 to 5 V, 0 to 10 V, and RS232 communications port.
• Note: The 0 to 10V output is only available with a 24 Vdc power supply. The RS232 output is only available with a 12 Vdc power supply.

Mounting & Optics

• Modes: Straight view and side view mounting configurations are offered.
• Cooling Options: Built-in air purge (cool to 120°C/248°F) or external air purge jackets (cool to 175°C/347°F).

Accessories

• OS36SM-(1): Mounting; stainless steel with silicone cushions, 6 mm (0.25") diameter.
• OS36SM-APJ: Air purge jacket; aluminum, 9.5 x 76 mm (3/8 x 3") diameter.
• OS36SM-MR-APJ: Mounting ring for air purge jacket; stainless steel with silicone cushions, 10 mm (0.38") diameter.

Key Product Differences

The OS35RS Series model numbers follow the structure OS35RS-(Temperature Code)-(Output Suffix)-(Power Supply Suffix). Specific variations include:

• Field of View (FOV): Standard models feature a 1:2 FOV. Models with "4" in the prefix offer a 4:1 FOV; the 0 to 500°C range is only available with these 4:1 FOV models.
• Sensor Orientation: The standard configuration provides straight view sensing, while models prefixed with "SV" provide side view mounting capabilities (e.g., OS35RS-SV for 1:2 and OS35RS-4SV for 4:1).
