Supported Applications

The Omega FSV10 Series consists of electronically controlled proportional solenoid valves designed for clean liquids and gases. These devices utilize a pulsewidth-modulated control circuit to maintain flow proportional to an analog input signal, making them suitable for industrial applications requiring precise valve control.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within specific environmental and process limits defined by the driver electronics and valve construction. Ambient temperature ranges from 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F), while fluid temperatures are supported between -10 to 54°C (14 to 130°F). The valves feature a maximum pressure rating of 500 psig (3448 kPa) and a typical valve surface temperature of 54°C (130°F) with 24 Vdc power input.

Performance characteristics include a turndown ratio of 100:1 and a response time maximum of 500 msec. Leak integrity is specified at 1 x 10⁻⁹ sccs (helium, individually tested). Maximum differential pressure ratings are 50 psid (345 kPa) for most models; the FSV15 model lists a limit of 35 psid (241 kPa).

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable flow capacities through five distinct orifice sizes, ranging from 0.51 mm to 3.18 mm. All models utilize ¼" compression fittings for process connection and are constructed with wetted materials of 316 and 416 stainless steel (SS) with FKM O-rings.

Control inputs accept either a 0 to 5 Vdc or 4 to 20 mA setpoint signal. A TTL-level input is available for shutdown regardless of the analog signal state. Power requirements are 12 to 30 Vdc, supplied via a 9-pin D connector or DC power jack (1 A @ 12 Vdc; 0.5 A @ 24 Vdc). Output power level is jumper-selectable.

  • Power Supply Option: FSV-PW accessory provides an 110 Vac/24 Vdc wall socket power supply with a 1.7 m (5.5') cord.

Key Product Differences

The series is differentiated by model number, which corresponds to specific orifice sizes and flow capacities for air and water at defined differential pressures:

  • FSV11: 0.51 mm (0.02") orifice; Cᵥ 0.009.
  • FSV12: 1.02 mm (0.04") orifice; Cᵥ 0.033.
  • FSV13: 1.4 mm (0.055") orifice; Cᵥ 0.055.
  • FSV14: 1.6 mm (0.063") orifice; Cᵥ 0.068.
  • FSV15: 3.18 mm (0.125") orifice; Cᵥ 0.24.

The FSV-PW accessory is available as a separate item to provide the required power supply via wall socket connection.
