Supported Applications

The Omega TCV-CB series consists of vacuum thermocouple sensors designed for use in vacuum processes. These probes feature KF Style Flanges conforming to the ISO 2861 fitting standard, available in #25 and #40 sizes.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The TCV-CB series utilizes K, E, or T type thermocouple elements with Special Limits of Error (SLE) accuracy. The measurement ranges are defined by the selected sensor type:

  • K and E types: -200 to 900 °C (-328 to 1652 °F)
  • T type: -200 to 400 °C (-328 to 752 °F)

Accuracy specifications above 0°C are as follows:

  • K type: 2.2 °C or 0.75% whichever is greater
  • E type: 1.7 °C or 0.5% whichever is greater
  • T type: 1.0 °C or 0.75% whichever is greater

The series meets or exceeds Special Limits of Error (SLE) and EN 60584-2 Tolerance Class 1.

Configuration Options

The TCV-CB series offers configurable probe lengths, flange sizes, junction styles, and cable options to accommodate specific installation requirements. Standard construction includes a ¼" diameter sheath made of 304 SS with an integral #24AWG stranded thermocouple wire featuring PFA insulation, PFA jacket, and stainless steel overbraid.

  • Thermocouple Types: K, T, or E
  • Junction Styles: Grounded ("G") or Ungrounded ("U")
  • KF Flange Sizes: #25 and #40 (ISO 2861)
  • Probe Lengths: Standard lengths include 3", 6", and 12". Custom probe lengths are available upon request.
  • Cable Configuration: Integral cable with nylon cable clamp; standard length is 40 inches (1 m). SMPW-M connector is optional.

Note: For longer or shorter cable lengths, the "-40" suffix in the model number should be changed to the required length in inches. Additional costs apply for non-standard probe and cable lengths.

Variants within the TCV-CB series are distinguished by thermocouple type, junction style (grounded vs. ungrounded), KF flange size (#25 or #40), and specific stem length configurations. The model number format follows the pattern TCV-(*)(**)-(***)-[Flange]-CB-[Cable Length], where:

  • (*) specifies the thermocouple type ("K", "T", or "E")
  • (**) specifies the junction style ("G" = Grounded, "U" = Ungrounded)
  • (***) indicates the probe length in inches (e.g., "0300" for 3", "0600" for 6", "1200" for 12")

Installation requires a customer-supplied clamp and O-ring. The probes are constructed with 304 SS wetted materials suitable for vacuum environments.
